Anyone Experience the Loud days / Quiet days with their Evo?

Current Mod. List: Megan catback with cat delete, Walbro 255 FP, MBC, K&N Drop In Filter, ECU tune set to 23.5 PSI

Has anyone noticed there are some days where the car would be very loud (exhaust note), loud enough to where it is very hard to have a conversation with someone in the car, and other days where it seems like there isn't an after market exhaust on the car? I've noticed this for a while, and my brother is now noticing it as well. He told me, he could have sworn the car was a LOT more quiet yesterday. I'm referring to when the car is cruising down the highway at 70-75 MPH. At first, i was going to assume since I have a car full of people (5 people including driver) there would be a tad bit more load to the engine, thus make the car a tad bit louder, but that isn't the case, no matter how many people are in the car, the car seems to have its loud days, and quiet days. If this is something common, I'm curious to know the reason behind this.

Mine sounds louder at times and quieter others. My theory is when my 3" cat gets hot, it gets louder. That's what is seems like to me.

Mine does that. Some days it's booming loud, other days it's ridiculously booming loud.

I guess air density might affect the harshness of the sound...depends on the temp outside? thats just a guess

happens to me...sometimes it sounds smooth and others more "burly" i guess. I'm thinking temps play a part

Density Altitude, temps, and humidity all have a part to play. On excessively hot muggy days an exhaust is louder than on the colder days.

Mine does that, too. It's a IX. When I had the 8, never had this issue.

If you look at all those who say to have it, they're mostly IX's. Must be aMIVEC thing.

At first, I thought it was the road conditions, perhaps causing some weird vibration in the exhaust. But travelling the same roads and noticing no pattern in the change of loudness ruled that theory out.
