So keep the OEMs? Much to the disappointment of my alignment guy. LOL

i think i experienced some hopping at my last autox event - exacerbated by the osgiken i think, vs the cusco which was pretty much locked when i touched the gas - and my super stiff rear sway bar (26mm WL on medium). the lot we run on is also really uneven, lot of elevation changes.

switching to 11k spring in the rear and pulling the rear bar back to soft, we'll see if that helps anything.

Why run a stiffer rear sway bar with an upgraded rear differential?

rear diff helps corner exit, but doesn't* change the suspension/handling of the car

The diff doesn't control body roll, the swaybar does.

Relationship to OEM rates (bar or spring) is irrelevant once you deviate far enough from original.

I agree but I had assumed that the sway bars that are produced use the OEM Sway bar diameter as a reference. One of the things I wonder is that if you run coilovers with a high enough spring rate does a sway bar even help at that point?

Yes because of the cross talk with the swaybars. I don't think of bars as a difference from OEM, I purely look at it as a percentage of total roll stiffness per end. In my case I run 10-15% total roll from bar up front and 30-40% in the rear.

I did try a year without a front bar and trying to make it work but it never felt right. The front always felt numb compared to the same roll rate but with a 15% from front bar and it struggled to get the back to do anything predictably even with pretty crazy rear rates. My gut says, though I haven't been able to prove it with math, some amount of front bar is needed for the rear bar to leverage off of.

As a tuning aid, the rear bar also can be used to dial in corner exit rotation with the spring use for entry/mid corner where the inside rear is light or lifted.
