i originally used like 2.5" i think Kaj, Honestly 2" is better than nothing at all.

I really like the box idea i havnt seen anything like that before. one thing to be aware of is that you need to have enough stretch in ur hose to go from lock to lock

Maybe mine is 2.5". I dunno. Whatever the first set of fittings were, back in the day. I haven't had a chance to mess with it for so long, I don't even remember. 2.5" sounds more like it. 2" is super small.

These are the only backing plate adapters I can find, seemed kinda small to me.

https://www.binaryeng.com/products/automotive

Some mention of a Subi place, Quantum Performance making a set back in 2011

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...ution-evo.html

But nothing on their site about EVO's at all really.

Got some more work done on the "duct"........ Used a HD 4-3" adapter for furnace ducting, molded from this
to this.

and the end of this 3" duct piece, of a swivel 90.

Ended up with this......

Main tube needs to be longer, but it seems it'll get the job done.
Will make the main tube out of thin sheet metal, probably pop rivet together.

Drivers side is not going to happen, end of trans sits under frame, but
bottom of trans seems much higher than everything going on on pass side,
so think I can sneak 3" tube just under trans and be higher than any splitter
I might come up with later.

u can go under the trans thats where i go.

Have u considered having enough hose slack so when u turn the wheel lock to lock it doesnt tear off? its going to be a short run of hose.

Also do a search on here a guy made brake duct things up a while back. basically u get a ali 2.5" tube. squash one end down to an oval shape in a vice and make a plate out of aluminium for the end. cut a hole in the middle and u pick up on the caliper mount bolts and then shape the plate around the caliper so it sits between the hub and caliper.

Mine look like the binary. Steel, chrome plated. I assume that's what they are, anyway.
Fine. I'll build my splitter so I can run the ducting over it. 😂

Been trying to locate some cheap 3" flexible tube to check travel.
I've looked at lot of setups on all different cars, and most of them look like
they are going to be too short or rub.

I figure worse case, maybe run tube more rearward over lower control arm a bit, and then to caliper.
Maybe even use very light springs to keep it from drooping when caliper moves inboard.

I will make my own out of a spare setup of dust shiedls if I have too. Just figured if
someone had 3"ers for a $100 or so, maybe I would grab them.

I'm intrigued by the ducting in the lower side of splitter, it's just I want brake cooling now,
not sure when, if ever, I'll get to making a decent splitter.

The fender liners? If so, mine were toast and too close to the oil cooler for me, so I did this:

Tried to fit 3", but just seemed like it didn't have enough room to flex without wanting to hit crank pulley.

So I settled on 2.5 inch. Got most of it done on drivers side.
Had to make my own caliper "ducts". Ugly, but made the largest possible
opening, following exact contour between caliper and knuckle........

Also fit tubing inside of "duct". seemed like the easiest way to keep it attached, vs
trying to fit something really high temp, outside of tube to clamp it over sheet metal.
Used decent size fender washers inside, to press against tubing wire.

Also had to move PS cooler, as it was right where I wanted inlet, on inner side of oil cooler duct.

Still not a lot of clearance at max turn it. Not sure how you guys with 3" fit it, especially keeping AC.....

Plenty of flex outward.............

Used a cheap insulted 3" pipe hangar, re-bent for 2.5.

Has anyone had luck with just using plain plastic porsche style ducts mounted on the control arms?

Similar to put OEM parts? Somewhere, I linked an article where they fabbed a set of deflectors for a Mustang. It had better results than ducting. If I could fab stuff, I'd try it. Should mount to the OEM location, just fine.
