Exedy twin organic track use

Have another noob one for the track peeps.

Seems that the bast majority will recommend the Exedy cerametallic twin MM022HD.
but have you guys tried the organic twin MM022SDF ?

Ive used it on several street X’s and it’s a dream to operate, stock like pedal and holds good power. But being organic and kinda heavy (not that the cerametallic twin is light) not sure how it’ll do in 20+ min track sessions..
or what other clutches should I be considering?

Stock block, FP 71 & e85. May do a Garret G25-660 in the future but I’d keep it <500whp/400tq

I am pretty sure it wont survive long I would go with cerametallic especially on track. For street use organic is enough.1

I dont see how track use would necessitate a twin, or that power level for that matter. I mean you're not out there slipping the clutch or launching the car. I'd think a proper single would be fine and your trans will thank you.

For me it was the clutch engagement point. The twin is closer to the floor then the single exedy so I ended up sticking with that. The SDF I had on the X backed out the pressure plate bolts so be sure to loctite those things down. Never had that issue on the 9.

Closer to the floor? Cant you just adjust pedal with a single plate?

Soooooo I got a really good deal on a ACT Mod twin with the sprung hub and organic disks 😀

Fingers crossed it works out and stands up to some track abuse and autox launches. Keep you guys posted!

Have a track day at Sebring scheduled for 11/5 so if the car holds together the clutch, oil pan and catch can setup will get a good trial by fire.

I’ve heard good things about pedal feel and driveability but I know of two people that have had issues with the clutch breaking/having issues and having to send back to ACT

Unfort not much so I switched back. It just engages so much better and is faster to shift as my feet are somewhat on the same level then. On a X it's a whole other story, single's with oem fly's are much better.

It'll be fine as long as you're good with you're rev matching on downshifts. Imprecise revs on downshifts are what put a lot of heat in the clutch doing road course stuff.

Ufff yeah definitely have to work on my heel toe…got a little rusty because the c7 does it perfectly every time for me lol
Im not too bad though. I think on the autox I did last week I only missed doing it a couple times so it should be better on a bigger track with more time for foot work

Just got the car back with the new clutch
So far the clutch feels great but the pedal is almost too light. Kinda weird driving a Evo with such a light pedal, lighter then my C7 z06 with oem clutch.
Not really a bad thing though, just have to get used to it.
No chatter or noise either.

The pedal is a bit high but I do have it adjusted all the way out because I was trying to extend the life of the old one.
Ill adjust it down and update once I drive it a bit more
