Talk me out of a 2023 BMW M2. Looking at trading my boring truck in plus cash for a new one. Carbon package, carbon buckets, 6spd manual, aspen white. Thoughts?
Will keep my Evo 3 and Evo 8. Just add to the stable.
Kinda leaning towards the F87 2020 M2 CS now. Will see what happens. Have to liquidate some things like my truck, trailer, and parts to see where I stand.
The pre 23 M2's don't have the killer Seq gear box like the 3 and 4 have right? And their $100k still today. The comp is 40k cheaper. Auction between 85k and 110k. That's a large gap for a whole 39hp. I drove both at the BMW experience in Greenville and I liked the 2 the best out of the M's. But no, I would not be happy walking into the garage and 100k only bought me a 2 series. Soooo many more options in that price range. I'd likely go for the Cayman GTS with the 4.0. Hell you could swing a new vette or a gt500 too.
Deposit down on a 2020 M2 Competition 6spd. Has 2100 miles on it. Bare in mind this will not be a track car. Closer to a daily. Far more practical than anything with only 2 seats, and I have 2 kids. The s55 engine is the same as the M3/M4. Minor bolt ons and a tune will really wake it up but not trying to go overboard. The 400hp in stock form im sure will be great in and of itself. Sporty weekend drivers car that I can still use for day to day stuff. Just tired and bored driving my truck around for the past 8 years. And Ive never owned a 2door rear drive manual car. I expect it will be tons of fun. https://www.camelbackford.com/used/B...b30b14cea7.htm
I went to BMW to inquire about the 2023. Sounds like they plan on dealer markups... that and the new curved display dash, and the weight of the car turned me off. Might have sprung for the CS but its too "special" to use practically. M2 comp is perfect balance between the 2 and makes more financial sense. And I wont feel guilty doing some bolt ons and enjoying the car day to day.
