The dealer I work with knows I autocross, from the service manager to the owner of the dealership. I have referred 3 people who have bought evos from them so they are very supportive in not making retarded warranty void claims.

it is very much dealer dependant though.

that depends

if you heat your rotors enough to turn them purple, and then take it in for brake issue, they are going to know something is up.

I do not approach it as getting away with it.
I suppose that is one of the reasons I have such a good relationaship with my dealer. When I break it and they should not have to pay for it, I tell them I do not want it warrantied, and treat them fairly. They in turn, overlook mods that my have anythign to do with a problem that is not due to me thrashing on it in AutoX.

My experience has been the same as Kyperion's. My dealership and I have an understanding - I won't try to screw them and they won't try to screw me. Works out well.

hmmm true....i used to be up at the dealership a few times after i got my car but the one guy started creaping me out (hitting on me way to much, sorry i am female you don't get that)

so what can be fixed by warranty that is not a major thing?? i know like if your transmission goes or any driving componants or what not but like simpler things that they are required to fix. day to day stuff...the warranty is so everywhere for a person like me that it is hard to follow

course i am hoping not to have any problem with my car...knock on wood

I think it depends on the dealer and what part is being disputed. My dealer was great, I'm pretty sure he knew what the suspension, stickers, and harness was for, but then again I didn't take it in for anything like worn lugs or suspension squeaks. They did replace the steering column without question. I don't think it should have come loose, but I did notice that I gripped the steering wheel hard when autocrossing in the stock seat.

If your in San Diego, Ball Mitsubishi wont mess with your warrenty. They will install lots of mods too, and they sponsor the 1/8 mile drags at Qualcom stadium. Great Service department....

and in how you approach the dealer too.

If you go in their and start making demands they are more likely to push back and deny your warrentee

Before you start, go talk to the dealer. There are probably several dealers in your area. if one says no ask the next. Subaru of Dallas is very supportive of Autocross and other driving events. STi customers who bought before May were sent to a driving school at MSR.

Havent really checked the Mitsubishi dealers yet.
