Sparco Harness Bar

I'm not sure if this is the best place to post this, so if a Mod thinks it should be moved go ahead.

Sparco currently makes a Harness Bar for several vehicles, of which the Evo is NOT one. I have been talking with Sparco about a bar for our cars, and they tell me that the Evo bar is under development now. I have been given part numbers for the two finishes they will be offering and thought I would share them with you guys. For me, this is a great alternative to having belts running all over the back seats or a cage of some sort, since my kids use the back seat pretty regularly. Here's a link to the Sparco site with info on the bars:

And here are the part numbers. Be advised that you can order a bar now, but expect an 8-12 week wait before it ships.

Yes, it will be a direct bolt-in installation with no drilling necessary. ETA on the EVO Harness Bar is 8 weeks.

Any idea if this will fit the Lancer as well? My shoulder are higher than the slots on the seat, so the current setup is not very safe for the spine. I mainly autocross with it, so I'm not that concerned, but it would be a really good idea for me to get something like this bar for track days.

Greg,

Looks like it has potential. I will wait and see what it looks like in your car and how it works out before I get mine.

Looks like a good place to me, but maybe post a link to this thread in Evo General somewhere?

Thanks. I have been reluctant to buy a harness without a bar; I can hardly wait!

Is it adjustable? I think I'm going to need it to be a little higher than that for me.

Yeah, I agree. Shouldn't it be higher than the holes in the seatback?

Man...good post. I too looked at Sparco USA for the harness bar and came up empty.

Props for the work.
