I didn't want to drop these into the "How do Evo Drivers rate F1?" thread. It seems that that thread is asking a more general question. I wanted to post up some of my pics from the USGP and I hope some of you will do the same. I went with my wife (she's a big F-1 fan too) and my sister (a newbie to F-1) and we had a great time. We watched a session from just about each part of the track. Our race seats are in Stand J, Section 28, Row T.
The start / finish line and the pagoda.

Rubino can guess how the weekend will end.

So can Michael!

Button comes out and signs a few autographs. He was the only driver who parked behind the fence and came out to visit with the fans. I think he made more than a few new fans by doing that.

Webber explores the extents of the track.

Cooked cat. Webber bails out during the race while a marshal hoses down the Jag.

Was it fun? Like anything, it is as fun as you make it. We make it a lot of fun. We go all over the track so we can see the cars in all their glory. We talk to people. I talked to folks from Brazil, Columbia, UK, Japan and Germany. I talked to team members during the pit walk on Thursday. That alone is almost worth the trip.
TV in no way captures what these cars sound like. You can stand along the front stretch at Indy and you are maybe 15 ft from the cars. They are doing 210+ MPH, making 950+ HP at something over 19000 RPM. The sound makes your knees weak when they go by. You can feel the slap of the disturbed air as they go past. I can't think of anywhere else in F-1 where you can get as close to the cars when they are going that fast. The race is tons of fun. By all accounts it is also one of the cheapest F-1 races as far as ticket prices. If you've thought about going then you just need to go and see it for your self.
