yeah, there were a couple good spin outs at theone i went to. A Z06 (first car to run at all that day) spun out in the first turn and narrowly missed the spotter standing right there. and another corvette spun and almost went into one of the light poles.

Isn't it tempting to use highway construction zones as a slalom?

Funny. I'm up in KC right now and there is construction on i35 and I was seriously considering slaloming through the cones. The worker dudes were about a half mile behind me and I'm sure they would not have minded. Not sure if AVIS would be cool about me using their Focus that way.

DON'T!!! I've got a friend who's going to court today for "reckelss"- a gross misdamenor in WA. He knocked over two cones in a construction zone, the cop pulled him from his car, threw him against the vehicle, cuffed him and tossed him in the back of a patrol car..... for two lousy cones.

This is one temptation we should all fight

And I thought two seconds a cone was a stiff penalty

I'm able (barely) to control myself enought to avoid doing anything too stupid. Besides with my luck besides having some cop make me his *****, I would probably flip the car and total it. That would make for an interesting week.

I think I'll just wait till the next event to have fun with the car.

Besides, dealing with over bearing cops is not my idea of fun. Playing around on public roads is a great way to get introduced to those same cops. They don't like it when you interupt donut time.

you guys are funny. But yeah, I said it's tempting but I wouldn't go through with it because you never know why the cones are there. You could end up in a ditch or kill someone working on the ground or something. I can wait once a month for the real deal.

What really stinks is that my wife just bought us tickets to the circus on the 15th. Right on top of my autocross day. She felt really bad.

The upside is that it forced me to look around and see whatelse is going on. The day before another group is running an event. The BMW group is going the week before (8/7/04)and the Porchse group the week after (8/29). So technically speaking.....I could spend every weekend of August getting seat time.......
Damn I need out of consulting.

Damn I'm going to need new tires.

Damn I love this.
