What's SMN? Is that "N" for novice? If I was in your position, I'd be comparing myself to the next level of performance to get an idea of where I really stand. I don't just look at my scores in my NOV category, I look at the Mid-size sedan class, too (that's where I'll be next year). (the AX group I belong to has it's own set of categories that roughly translate to SCCA indexing- they do have a PAX section for those who want the national points).
yeah the N is for Novice. If i had been i SM i would have been 2nd . but im pretty happy with 2 wins in 2 starts plus last event there were 3 other evos in my class. Today there was an STi that has every Cusco part made for it on it in my class so I was probably better matched for the SMN class than regular SM.
This event was much better than the last one I went to. The number of cars entered was probably less than 100 so we got more runs. I got 7 because somebody walked in front of the finish line timer.
As usual no other EVOs, but what else did I expect? Luckily several of the WRX & STi drivers took me any and provided pointers on how to trim time off and get the best performance out of an AWD.
My first time was 62.723(? don't have notes w/ me now) and my last time was 60.55. Fasted car in STU was 55.???.
I have video from three of my runs which I'll rip and post laster. Unfortunately the tape ran out at the start line for my fourth run. I also have a few pictures which I'll post as well. I'm just to worn out to do anything else right now.
Anyway, tons of fun and there were a lot of cool cars out there.
