exhaust: ultimate racing or magnaflow
exhaust: ultimate racing or magnaflow
looking to buy a new exhaust and was leaning towards a magnaflow exhaust but the cheapest i saw online right now is $695. but the ultimate racing catback with mini muffler and resonator option can be had right now for $700+ with the black friday sale going on right now... which one should i get? thoughts please... where i live i don't have to worry about rusting due to salt that the magnaflow is prone to.
the price right now is pretty much the same. my car is a daily driver.
also, i just recently purchased an evo x ic, ic piping, aem intake, and now looking in to getting an exhaust, will all this require a custom tune?
thanks

Nobody in their right mind would pay that much for the Magnaflow. It's $600 on lancershop and you can usually get it for 500-550 on hottexhaust.com with the right coupon (right now they have a pretty decent promotion).
However, the UR exhaust is a bit better because it is 3" all the way through, so I'd probably get that with the current discount they are running. The resonator option is a big bonus as well.
As far as your new components - the intake will definitely require a tune to work properly. Also, it's pretty much useless for our cars. A catback exhaust alone can make the car sound a lot better, but it is also useless for gaining actual power. Get a downpipe and HFC as well to see any actual gains. Intercooler + piping does not require a tune. Same with a turbo back exhaust, but you do need a tune (GST or Cobb generic options are fine to start with) to see bigger gains. The stock tune is garbage anyway.

It should be mentioned that the UR single exhaust is 1. obnoxiously loud and 2. leaves a big empty space in your rear bumper where the second pipe used to be, so by most standards it does not look good at all.
