Even IF all of our EVOVIII's don't sell right away, that's perfect!
The pure marketing and draw value of having a few EVO's in the showroom is enough of a reason to tack on a mark-up and keep'em here.
So, for those of you who think that dealers are going to drop the mark-up in six months.... Keep on holding your breath
For the rest of you... call me (909) 910-6674... we've got three left now and another eleven on the way.

You got a point of having the right to mark up the EVO in that manner. It is a private business after all. With that said, you and other dealers that engage in such practice have bad business ethics. It isn't a matter of whether or not the price will drop in 6 months, this is a matter of principle and business ethics.
The only way you will be able to compete with the STi due in June is price. A few friends of mine have sale notes signed by Irivine Subaru quoting sticker or better for I-Club members with deposits. Will the EVO drop in price in June or when the STi hits US soil, you can count on it. Maybe not at your dealership, but someone else will get the picture and sell them at least sticker.
Later you will realize that most guys/gals that can actually afford a 30k+ car didn't get there by making bad financial choices.
Torrance Mitsubishi= 15,000 over sticker=45,000.
Buy it and drive it off the lot=5000 depreciation from original sticker=25,000
Difference=20,000
Do the math.....get the picture? How much is financial ignorance costing you?
Keeping it real,
Nate

Evolution at Todey Mitsubishi in Camarillo, (Ventura County) So. Cal. 42K, asked salesman about more cars: He didn't know 'this one was their only EVO' Asked about getting a brochure that was lying on dash: 'car was locked and manager had the only key and he was away at a meeting'
I was also told that although production was limited this year, next year they would make as many as they could sell (this may be old news)
I did get a good look at those big brakes, slick seats, and impressive FMIC (couldn't see water sprayer) Suspension looked Hi-tech.
I'm going to set back and wait for the price duel between Mitsubishi and Subaru. My guess is it will start around Sept/Nov ? Jack

As a week old owner of a EvoVIII, i thought i'd chime in.......
This car is hardcore! Stiff, quick steering, amazing handling and generally feels "right".
But, at only 700miles, i allready have some dash rattles and others have the same problem along with other minor issues.
At $30k (i paid MSRP) it still seems a good deal, but i put ultimate performance above everthing. This is my first new car ever, and i've had many cars before the Evo. Hell, i used to drive a old '67 Belvedere for a daily driver, so i know i can put up with alot!
But some people might question what they got themselves into, after really owning an Evo after awhile. I mean, the interior is pretty basic as new $30k cars go ( No power seats, No cruise control, No flashy instrument gauges, basic stereo...) and you get alot more noise in the cabin than most are used to.
I, however, love basic cars and their simplicity. The Evo is as close to a "RS" type car (think Porsche RS) you can get for $30k.
At $35k and up though, alot more choices come into view, especially if you dont mind low mileage used cars (i.e. Porsche 993's......)
Just hold out for awhile guy's, if you cant find 'em for a fair price. If dealers are trying to sell Evo's for $40k, their going to have them on their hands for quite awhile............

I just went into Mitsubishi of Thousand Oaks (SO CALIFORNIA) and they only have a markup of $3500, which is the best I've seen in California so far. They said if I was serious about buying, they would work with me on the number. These 2 guys were young and super cool...not the usual car sales people...if anyone is interested, their ## is (805) 497-4515...ask for SEAN or KEVIN...later...
Oh...and they have 3 in stock with 2 more coming in the next week....SILVER, WHITE, and BLUE...all come with Air Dams, Rear strut Brace, Sports Meter kit, Hand Brake, Brake Air Guides, Scuff Plates, and Wheel Locks....$36K...later...
I got mine for $1000 over MSRP from Ontario Mitsubishi. Talk to Larry Ojeda in Sales. He'll probably try to sell at about $2-$2.5K over at first, but just keep persisting and maybe even go down there and plan on haggling for a couple of hours.
