Cool NorCal

Concord has five Evos with one allocated from a customer who put $3K down.

I just spoke with a salesperson from Serramonte where I was allocated a French Blue Evo, but the want $34K per car!

Anyone in Northern California have a better option for me?

I'm planning on trading in my '03 0-Z and maybe a 2001 Caravan SE to defer some of the cost.

Hey All,

BOYCOTT CAPITOL MITSUBISHI OF SAN JOSE, CA!! ('') I got the lousiest customer service there!! I went into the dealership and saw a $4,999 Mark-up instead of the $20,000 as listed in seperate post along with a $1,295 Super Prestige, $1,295 Lo Jack (this is ok!), AND $195.00 Wheel locks!! So the total was like $40,000. A sales was ok in telling me the usual details: intercooled turbo, 271hp, blah blah blah...then I asked for a test drive and he said why don't you ask the General Manager (his name's RJ Barzoti). I was reluctant to ask since I'm the one buying the car and they should serve me instead. The sales was somewhat pushy and I said I wouldn't buy the car w/o test driving. The GM came over and said: "there's none available to test-drive, the only way is for you to agree on the price, buy the car, sign the contracts, we shake hands, and you drive off with the car!" His tone was ok at this point and went on with more bull****. A friend that went along with me and I were getting impatient and the manager said "We don't let anyone test drive it because everyone knows how good they're and they will just buy them w/o test-driving. Have you bought an evolution before?" to my friend and so my friend said "don't talk to me anymore!" This is when the manager was turning red, yelling at my friend, and said "I don't like your friend but you're nice" to me and "I think you should go or I'll call the police" to my friend. My friend and I were getting pissed off and a bunch of sales incl. a few younger sales was like "watch your ****ing language", "that's the general manager and he said you guys should leave so you guys better leave", etc. The manager was also saying "I don't care if you guys don't buy the car, I have tons of ppl waiting even with my mark-up", "I am not going to deal with you guys and you guys can go somewhere else"! We were just so pissed off!! This is even WORST than the STEVENS CREEK MITSUBISHI sales guys!! (I'm glad they HAD TO CLOSE DOWN PART OF IT! ) I'm DEFINITELY NOT BUYING ANY CARS AT CAPITOL MITSUBISHI and NOT RECOMMENDING to ANYONE AT ALL!! I'm even thinking of getting a STi at this point instead. ARRR...I'm so pissed off, I'm going to complain to the Better Business Bureau, district manager/upper management of Mitsubishi, and other places! CAPITOL MITSUBISHI is just not worth your time!!

Yes, they suck big time.................

Call "MyMitsubishi" (Mymitsubishi.com) in Salinas. If they are still getting Evo's, they have them for MSRP.

They are nice to deal with and NO bullsh*t from salesmen.

Hey Czar,

Thanks!! I'll give them a call and check it out. I assume you had a nice experience there. Did they require options like Super Prestige, Low Jack, and/or Wheel locks? What options did you get?

All my car had was the Big wing($480), thats it.

It was $30,062.

They dont know much about the car (which is kinda good), but they are friendly and dont use pressure tactics.

Hey guys- new to the board. I went by Stevens Creek today. What a joke. They told me they are selling these cars at $40K. I laughed in the guys face. Then his salesman buddy says "the MSRP is $34K. I called bull**** on him and proceeded to walkout.

I then spoke called Veracom Mitsubishi in San Mateo and asked the guy to tell me straight up what they were asking (sticker) for the EVO. The guy was pretty cool and said they are stickering the car at $45K becuase that's what everyone else is doing. I told him that was a joke and that I wouldnt pay more than $2-3K over sticker- he said he could probably get there with $4-5K down and good credit. I told him I may call him back this weekend.
If I can find the EVO at MSRP or close to (within $1500) I will probably buy- Do you guys think these mark ups are going to hold until the STI comes out?
Czar - thanks for the info- I'll call Salinas tomorrow.

No MSRP in the Bay Area

None of the dealers here will sell at MSRP. The ppl at Steves Creek are the worst. Even if it was MSRP, I wouldn't buy from them.

I got my Evo on the 15th. Dilow, another guy on the forums got his Evo there also. I'm not sure if they will be getting more Evo's in, but i'd call and check.

I would suggest you wait and not pay $1 over MSRP for an Evo. Veracom has two Evo's sitting in their showroom and they will continue to sit there for what they are asking. This car is pretty hardcore for most people to drive everyday, and i expect it will not appeal to the average sportscar buyer. I love my car, but i'm glad i got it a MSRP.

Also, Capitol, Veracom, and Stevens Creek are to be avoided. Let them keep the cars on their lots until they have to sell them for under MSRP.................just have patience.

I called MyMitusbishi at Salinas couple weeks ago and they told me they won't get one till June? So is it really May or June? I'm planning on to get one there too if the dealership in Serramonte and Veracom won't give out.

Did anyone call MyMitsubishi? Did they say exactly when they will get the car and what colors? I plan to pay msrp, but probably won't mind 1 or 2k if i get it before May.

If anyone knows anything, it will be great help.

Hey all...just thought I'd see what kind of reception this message will get...But the basics, I work for a Bay Area mitsu dealer, and we have sold a few EVO's for a wide range of pricing. What I wanted to see is what you would consider a fair price for the EVO is?
