question about this forum

is this a place for strictly organizing NTEC things, or is this kind of like the texas forum where we can bull****, rant etc etc.

and since sean is the NTEC club forum leader, is that just a title, or are you like the moderator for just this forum?

I'm the interface between the staff and NTEC. I can ask for stickied threads or for stuff to be moved, but I don't have any specific "rights" other than that. We might pull over more of the NTEC specific threads from the South, but we'll see.

IMO this forum can be used for whatever we want (within the rules of EvoM, just like we use the south forum, so no ****, street racing, etc.).

So have fun!

^ Yes, this. Please use Mr. Grin for any routine requests. For right now, Myself and the SuperMods will be watching over this area. Of course we don't anticipate any problems, in fact it seems to be doing OK at the present time.

from all the cool members I've met..
this is gonna be a walk-in-the-park

  • NTEC business, such as T-shirts, Stickers and such (clearly not of interest to anyone except NTEC members) should be here..
  • it appears that while all our EVENTS are open to all Evo owners (sometimes more)
  • those threads belong on the South forum...
shouldn't the EaglesCanyonEvent including pic threads be on the South forum?
it was a public event with many cars other than Evos...

i mean, we don't wanna pull all DFW traffic off the South forum ???

IMO, it was an NTEC event because we were all NTEC members there. There were other cars, but not other non-evom evos.

If this thread is literally for NTEC business only it's going to get little traffic.

I was torn between a "club" forum and a "subregion" forum, because the purposes could be misconstrued.

yes, the club forum is exactly what we represent...

That would be a good thing, I mean
why pull traffic from South, unless its specific club business that we wouldn't welcome non-member votes/opinion/traffic?

I think that you and I differ on how we want this forum to work. Maybe I'm more for a "North Texas" forum than "NTEC" forum.

no agenda here...I'm just trying to clarify whether we (NTEC or all North Texas)
ever posts in the South forum at all

have we outgrown the South forum and now requested to start our own?

i think that's what Booster9 was asking

??? i'm treating this forum like our sub region. sure i'll still read the south region board, but most if not all of the local things i deal with i'll be doing here (no one in houston cares if a few of us are going to go meet at buck and loons once a month ). anything that involves the rest of the region, say a SCCA national tour regional autocross or something would be better served in the south region.

maybe it would be best served to have a "club mission statement" or something to that effect stating who can be in NTEC, how to get involved, who to contact etc... because it is not exclusive (well it kind of is...), we let anyone with an evo and even previous evo owners as members that live in north texas become members. so provided they have those two qualifications they are free to post here.

as an example, a good friend drew is looking to get an evo. i told him to sign up here, introduce himself and post up about where some evos are to look at. the NTEC region would serve him best, because hes here in dallas, and all of us know where the local evos are for sale. from there the south region and the south region for sale section is where he will look too.

edit*and i thought there was a mission statement and there actually is we just need to put some contact information in it, or more info on how to get involved from this webpage. like a newbie thread or something where people can introduce themselves...

yeah the way i see it...is the only ppl that I ever talk to in regional forum is people from NTEC and NTEC related stuff. there is no reason to clutter the South section with things i really only want NTEC ppl to see. So stuff like the ECR pics, i really only care to share with the NTEC ppl thus why i put it in the NTEC section.

Now for people that dont have a local Evo clubs then they post in there regional forum, and maybe having club forums will inspire other areas to get organized and make more local evo clubs.

I know having a NTEC forum and South Forum is kinda doubling up, but if you look at it this way....
instead of having a 30,000 post thread like we were going to have, well you get the idea.

i think instead of club forums though....have regional broken down into States and Major Cities...ie. DFW, Houston, El Paso, Austin, San Antonio. and if you live in the boonies...well post in the city that is closest to you. but i dont think there are a whole lot of evos that live in Rocksprings, Texas.

and do this for every state that has Major cities....for instance you would't need to break down Idaho, Utah, N. Dakota, etc. but like Florida do Miami, Tampa, Jacksonville or Cali, San Diego, LA. SF...you get the idea.

but I guess we can see how this all works out.
