That corner was late apex (meaning you turn later) and off camber a bit. My guess, since I was a few cars back, from reviewing the video, is that he went in too hot, turned in while braking (trail braking) and the car got really light (and began to overrotate), so rather than go off sideways or looping, he straightened the wheel and went straight off (which is the *best* way to go off if you are going to). Could he have made the turn? Maybe. It looks pretty tame in the video, but without being in the car, there's no way to tell what the car felt like it could or couldn't do.

I did the exact same thing at ECR. The car felt loose, so rather than try a hero save, I went off safely. If you go off sideways, you're likely to roll the car, which is a bad ending for everyone.

Yep you can see he nearly does the same thing before that after he passes me. 3.30-ish on a different turn. It doesn't look like much in the vid, but the car was very sideways for the pace.

He was cutting it very close and made a good choice to have a safe off.

He was trying to get the car to rotate (it worked too much ), but as he told me, it's not like driving a kart!

He made a good save. Going off sideways in the dirt would have been no bueno.

if 3:30 is Santa Rosa (4), I was drifting through that corner a lot of the time simply because that was the only way to get the X to turn. Not the right way, but it worked ok.

Yes it was 4. I hear you on that. My car pushes like crazy through there. I may try a later turn in with trailbrake/throttle lift to get a little more rotation. That and stop being a wuss and set my rear sway bar to stiff

Thanks for putting up these good videos. Fun to watch.

Perhaps before too long I'll have my own videos to share...

Hallet:

Saturday:
Session 1: http://www.vimeo.com/5557210
Session 2: http://www.vimeo.com/5557380
Session 3: http://www.vimeo.com/5557526
Session 4: http://www.vimeo.com/5557644

I only got two videos from Sunday (camera battery died). Of course on my third session I wish I'd had video since I was chasing an older 911 turbo (orange) on r-comps (I was on street tires). Massive power out of corners

I am uploading my video from Sunday that has the oopsie in my sig though

And... I got a "chase cam" type video from the other EvoX from Saturday. He went out behind me and I've got his video and mine and I'm going to combine them somehow someday.
