safe w/o tune?

hey fellas..i have an extremeboost o2 housing/dp external dump sitting in my garage and i'll be receiving my catback here shortly. i'm wondering if it's ok to install these combined with the cone intake and nisei uicp that i already have and drive it around without a tune for a while? i don't have a test pipe yet (i'm planning on getting the ur mini muffler test pipe) that's why i wanted to complete the set up before taking it to evo dynamics.

also, i'm new to the evo x...but i think kevind told me that to tune these cars i don't even need a boost controller or boost gauge to watch for boost (although i know those are good to have anyway)...coz i don't have either of those yet.

evo x experts chime in! thanks!!

its ok as long as you do not step on it. those free flowing mods will make your afr go lean so just make sure you dont you gun it. to control boost you will atleast get a boost pill to up the boost or better yet a 3 port. i suggest still getting a boost gauge so that you could monitor boost and make sure you do not over boost.

the X run so rich to begin with that adding that stuff will actually help lean it out some. it will be fine to run it hard, but you'll obviously make more power after the tune. you can see many of the shops doing dyno runs on completely untuned cars making very big gains from the basic bolt ons.

you don't need a boost controller short of the 3 port valve (we have one of many options for those). although i would get a boost gauge to make sure its always where its sopposed to be.

I ran with most of those mods without a tune for a while (including autocrosses and track days). You'll be fine.
