I gave them a call yesterday and they said their blend was a true 85% Ethanol. To check, I drove up to Denton this evening, bought a 2-gallon sample and came home to test it. I used the same testing equipment that showed 81/82 at the Sachse Kroger yesterday. What do you know. The guy was truthful. Martin Eagle's E-85 is actually 85% ethanol and sells for $2.399. About $0.10 per gallon more for the extra 3% ethanol mix.

4/27/2010: Martin Eagle Oil (Denton) E85 ($2.39/ gallon)

that means if you're tune on E85 by Kevin's then you're going to run leaner on the fuel from Denton.

It seems like Kroger is entering a fairly stable summer mix around E81 that might be best for a daily driver tune, since it is readily available. I may get a drum of the 85% for race car use and just keep it capped tight. I'll probably burn 20 gallons during the new engine break-in/tune, so the 55 gallons will probably only last 2-3 months. Folks at the ethanol plant told me the fuel would easily keep for this amount of time if capped tightly.

Wasn't aware Valero sells E85 can we get an updated list of stations in the area the web search locators don't seem to be updated that often.

I know of 3 new Valeros that have been built within the last 6 months that have e85. There is one on 380 in Little Elm, one on FM 423 and El Dorado in Little Elm, and a Valero at 114 and 35w by TMS.

The rest of the stations I know are the usual suspects. Martin Eagle Oil Company in Denton, as well as the handful of Krogers that carry it.

I use an app for my Android called Drive Alternatives. It is also available for iPhone. Every time I buy E85, I update the price. It is a good tool. I also know that Google has trouble locating the Valero by TMS, so the map doesn't always work for the app.

I would kill to have an E85 station anywhere in Arlington. If anyone has seen one, please let me know, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't exist (yet).

There is one in Mansfield ...depending on where you are in Arlington, that might be close to you. There is one off 183 which is probably close to where you work
