Inspection......

So my inspection is up in March, I know we have guys around here that will do inspections for us.

TINT! I cant do a darn thing about that even if I wanted to, I'm not peeling it! lol

I am in Fort Worth, hopefully someone knows a guy in TarrantCounty/Fort Worth area, haha hopefully not McKinney or some place far from me.

I had a guy, but he moved from Beach St in Fort Worth to Lewisville.

THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE HELP!

PM me if you dont wanna put it out there......

Provided you're not throwing codes, you should be fine. just take it to a quick oil change place, and be done with it.

im sure somebody with a state inspectors license or somebody dumb enough to give away a person that would knowingly illegally pass you will respond to this...... LOL... they may as well print a list of all people and cars and turn themselves or the person into the police station! dude seriously?

go to a quick car or quicky lube, theres bound to be a place that overlooks it. if not then roll your windows down when you go in.
If you cant pass inspection then MAKE it pass.

Does the Evo have a fuse for the windows? If it does. Roll them down, yank the fuse.

The state inspection does not require that your windows work or have to roll up. You simply say they aren't working and you're going to the dealer after.

It's a trick many of my Fbody friends have used for years.

EDIT- Dude I have an RS TOO.

Chad - Youre talking to me in a disrespectful, I dont appreciate it. If you re-read, you will clearly see that I was asking someone to PM ME. I never expected anyone to respond in this post. As far as some of the state inspectors dumb enough to post up, I wouldnt put it past some of them. Some, not all, but most, can barely operate a computer. Its funny you say that, I had an experience with a tech. I told him upfront about the tint. He says ok, drives my car, grinds the sh*t outta second, brings it back, charges me for the inspection and fails me. So $40 wasted, I am trying to avoid that.

I was simply hoping for a fellow evo owner to PM me and give me a couple of leads.

My tint is only 15% all the way around, the state law is 25%. If it was 5% all the way around, I would bite the bullet and remove it. The rolling down the window thing doesnt work, and my car is an RS, no power windows. It doesnt work because these techs know that people have dark tint. I tried at 3 places yesterday, rolling down windows, and had 2 outta 3 threaten to charge me and were really mad that I did that. I dont wanna fool anyone.

Now onto how I will "fix" it, like alot of people right now, I am jobless and really dont have it in my budget to rip off the tint, much less replace it. I am lucky to have my car.

So there, I embarrassed myself on here. You happy?

don't know anyone in tarrant county. everyone in collin seems to overlook everything. i've never seen the techs put light meters to the windows on any car to check tint. maybe they'll do that if it's obvious.

could you remove all 4 handles after rolling down the windows? say they were stolen or broke off maybe?

good luck.

and is that negativity really called for? we all know the answer to that.

ps are you the same Russel who's brakes i once changed during a dyno day...then changed back the following day...then i received a call from a few months later with an issue?
if so please pm me and let me know how that went. think that was back in 2005 or something.
