Looking to lower the X a little while still retaining a livable ride. I know the Cobb springs were discontinued but I was able to find them in stock. Which one do you all recommend? Thanks.

Both are great choices and you can't go wrong with either, but I personally opted for the Eibach Prokits and think they're the perfect daily-driver spring for me. I had the Swifts on my IX and am much happier with these. You're welcome to stop by for a ride if you'd like. My car will ride a bit firmer than yours will since I have a GSR, but you'll still get a good feel for the springs.

Awesome, I might have to take you up on that offer!
When I do the springs do I need to buy anything else to be able to get a proper alignment? Such as the whiteline kit? Thanks again!

Nope, the stock adjustments are perfectly fine with lowering springs for anything from less aggressive than stock to performance street settings. During reinstallation you have the choice of flipping the front camber bolts, stock orientation will yield aprox. -1 degree of front camber, but flipping them (small arrow on the head of the bolt pointed outwards) will be good for about -2 degrees. I personally have -2 front, -1 rear, and zero toe all around.Originally Posted by RAC3ME

Stock MR and GSR springs are very similar. The great thing about the Prokits it the progressive spring rate range they have; start off softer than stock and firm up more than the Swift Sports. My cruising down the road ride is softer than stock, but as soon as I get the car into some corners they firm up really nicely and keep the car planted. They'll ride even nicer when used with the MR Bilsteins.Originally Posted by MPACT
Kracka, can you talk about the ride of the Eibach compared to the stock MR springs?

I love the Eibach's on my GSR and plan on putting them on the wife's SE. Like Kracka said they ride great for DD and stiffen up when you need them to be. I think "looks" wise they are just about the best. It's think it's the perfect drop.

Oh, and we have them in stock here in Plano

Thanks for the input guys. Cobb just made it easy for me. lol. I'll be by there next week for some springs!
Do you mind PMing me a price on them and a price for install please? Thanks in advance!

Kevin, do you have actual drop numbers for the Cobb springs? They're rated lower than the Prokits but from the pictures it's pretty obvious they aren't. They also look to have a slight front-bias rake to them vs. the rated rear-bias rake. Thanks!

H&R sits lower than the Prokits, I think they're about as low as you're going to get for the X.Originally Posted by jdm sam
both are still not low enough for my taste, but the pro kit is definitely lower than the cobb.

Just to add fuel to the fire, when I had the prokit on my X with the MR bilsteins, I was riding around on the bump stops at the track. They were too low even with cut bump stops for me at the track. I don't know about the Cobb's, but if you plan to road race the car I suggest you either stay on the stock springs (Jim can attest to how fast the car can be on stock suspension) or upgrade to a coilover/matched shock spring combo. If you are just rolling around town, the prokits are fine.
Also, you may have to roll the rears if you are running wider than stock rims and tires. I was rubbing in the rear with a 265 tire and 18x9.5 rims.
The whiteline kit is not needed, but it does make a difference. I noticed that after adding it to the prokit it brought back the "sharpness" of the car. It felt alot better.

That's interesting... I do plan on hitting the track at least once a month (ECR mostly). I just cant get over how much roll the car has. Have you upgraded sway bars yet? Do you suggest doing those first to cure the roll? My main goal with the car is function over form. I'll do what I have to to make it quick/fast and worry about how it looks later. Yes I have upgraded sway bars, Cobb front and rear. To tell you the truth, the sway bars made the biggest difference on the car. Even more than my AST's. If I had to do it again (assuming I started with stock suspension) I would do sway first. Take it to the track and see how you like it. The stock suspension is really capable. I would skip over springs all together and either stay stock, or go with quality coilovers like the AST's. The benefit is the ability to tune the suspension for the track, where the cobb/prokit setup is pretty much set. Yes you can get the stock bilsteins rebuild with different valving, but I was told by robi and mueller that in their testing it isn't worth it, keep them stock.
I have gotten off topic, but if you want a ride with my setup let me know.
-Cobb front and rear sways
-Ast 4100 coilovers 700lb front/800lb rear (12.8k/14.2k) with vorshlag camber plates
-whiteline anti-roll
