Eibach or Cobb lowering springs?
Yes I have upgraded sway bars, Cobb front and rear. To tell you the truth, the sway bars made the biggest difference on the car. Even more than my AST's. If I had to do it again (assuming I started with stock suspension) I would do sway first. Take it to the track and see how you like it. The stock suspension is really capable. I would skip over springs all together and either stay stock, or go with quality coilovers like the AST's. The benefit is the ability to tune the suspension for the track, where the cobb/prokit setup is pretty much set. Yes you can get the stock bilsteins rebuild with different valving, but I was told by robi and mueller that in their testing it isn't worth it, keep them stock.
I have gotten off topic, but if you want a ride with my setup let me know.
-Cobb front and rear sways
-Ast 4100 coilovers 700lb front/800lb rear (12.8k/14.2k) with vorshlag camber plates
-whiteline anti-roll

Thanks for everyones input, my Evo experience is already ten times better than any other car group/brand I have been a part of. Everyone is extremely helpful and knowledgeable.
As Chris said, the stock suspension is VERY GOOD as it sits on the car. I would learn to drive it on the track and max out the stock suspension before you go with coilovers. I'd skip the springs altogether if you are going to road race at all. The lowering of the car will really hinder the stock setup and limit the car's on-track performance. There are other areas that need attention prior to suspension, brakes for example would give you a lot more bang for your buck on the track.
These cars are so versitile, that the most important part of modding the vehicle is knowing exactly what you want to do with the car. Attending meets and getting to know the various players in NTEC will help you decide what you want to do and how to go about getting the desired results.
We are lucky here in N. Texas to have a really good group of knowledgeable people that are always willing to help each other out. Whether it is show n shine, drag, road race, auto-x, highway beast, or just a nice DD, you will find several people with a TON of experience in NTEC.
