True. But the correction may not be neccesaary, depending on the circumstances. Is it a gun, or a weapon? Is it a clip, or a magazine? A boat, or a ship? In our society, as diverse as it is, we tend to makeup words as it suits us and as our culture and language both evolve.

One may be more technically correct than the other, but both are accepted conversationally. For me, when I hear "wheels," I immediately think of the ugly factory steel wheels that require hubcaps. When I hear "rims," I know the person means the kind this thread is about.

Either way, pet peeve or not, the thread was a noob question about how/where to have them put on, not what to call them.

Me too. Usually on message boards I'd expect to get several suggestions of several places. It makes it pretty easy to plan out when everyone suggests the same place.

Guess I can plan on having this done within about a week....just enough time to order and schedule a day off.

I started this thread to find out how and where to have them installed. Not to learn about your "pet peeves." Your particular attempt at education only pertained to that, since as I pointed out, both terms are accepted conversationally.
