4 Door Truck Advice
I need a truck. The Galant is a great car but with the big 4-door trucks that are out now I think it's the way to go. I kind of wish now I would have waited to trade in the SE until we really had time to let things settle with the wife staying home and really figure out our budget and needs. We went into panic mode and now we are looking at being upside down to get into a truck, but we need one. We enjoying camping and other activities that two cars just can't do. We would like to eventually have a camper, or a boat at some point, and I'm going to need something to tow the Evo eventually
The tucks I'm looking at are the Dodge Crew Cab, Ford Super Crew, and the Toyota Crewmax.
So far I've been in the Toyota and the Ford and will be checking out the Dodge tomorrow on my lunch break.
The crewmax's rear seat is freakishly huge and I like it's BIG aggressive looks and the fact that it's built in San Antonio. Towing and power are good in the 5.7 V8.
The Ford is really nice and seem to be well built. All the guys at work drive them and have never had problems with them. The rear seat doesn't seem to be as big as it is in the sepcs, but has seconds most rear legroom.
The wife is really set on another Dodge since my old truck was such a great truck. It was a 2000 and I never had a single problem with it. The only reason I sold it was because it was stolen and it just never felt the same again. Rear seat on paper has less leg room out of the 3. It does have the most powerful 5.7 and the most towing.
What do you guys think

i have a 2010 crewmax tundra and LOVE it. i traded in our outlander for it because we needed something to move parts around and tow vehicles with. the tundra has a 10k lb towing capacity and tows the cars without even blinking. gas mileage on it isn't that great though. i get like 16mpg city and got close to 19-20mpg on our trip to michigan (all highway of course).
the AC in the tundra blows so cold so fast, it puts everything else to shame
that was a particularly nice feature

I too have a 2010 Tundra Crewmax, and it is an awesome tow rig. Like Kevin said, it pulls the Evo with ease. I really like it more than I thought I would as a DD; you sit up high, got a huge v8, and it feels very planted for such a large vehicle. It has surpassed my expectations for a truck, no doubt.

I test drove the Tundra and I'm sold. It's a great truck and the massive back seat will be great for the kiddo(s). Now it's math time to see if it can actually happen.
You should keep what you got until you absolutley sure you have to have it. Try a camping trip in it, and if it works, keep it or even get a small trailer instead of being way upside down. I have traded in so many cars when I was younger and I was so glad to finally get ahead.

If I could go back on the Suburban, I would probably go Diesel truck with 4 doors as well. Suburban was just a great deal and I probably wouldnt even be upside down in it if I was to trade.

Josh lifted the heads on his diesel and traded it for his tundra crewmax 4x4. Then he wanted something with better mpg so he got a dodge dually diesel. He's already replaced all the shocks, and had it in the shop for engine noises. Not sure if there was anything wrong with it, but I know he loves the fuel mileage from it. Maybe he can chime in.

I might end up with a Ford. They have really good rebates right now and a guy from work knows a guy that works at a Ford dealership so we'll see what happens. I'll loose 3.5inches of rear leg room with the F150, but it will probably save me a $150 a month so I think it will be worth the trade off. The 5.0 V8 should be able to pull the Evo with no problems.
