E85 Conversion
I know there are threads about this but they are more in line with "What do I need" instead of "Which hardware is good/bad". I know what I need and what flow rates and supply volumes are required but not which parts are worth a darn.
So I am on the fence about switching over. I am looking to maybe pick up the necessary injectors and pump this holiday weekend. So far I haven't read anything consistently good about anything with regards to injectors or fuel pump assemblies, other than Walbro 255/400, Aeromotive 340, and Bosche 044 are good pumps.
Fuel Pressure Regulator:
Is upgrading it really required for only upping the supply by ~100-150lph?
Injectors:
I know what size injectors I want, min 1300cc, but I have read flow issues and customer service issues with DW, pig tail issues with FIC, and nothing good or bad about all the others out there.
What are you guys running that you are happy with? I mean if the FIC's are not bad, only needing to solder the pig tails on, that is fine. I am leaning towards the DeatchWerks 1300cc injectors but I have read some bad press about their pumps and such lately.
Pump Assembly:
SpeedElement has the BlaqOps Single pump kit, with several pump options, the only ones I would consider are:
Walbro 255lph
Aeromotive 340lph
Walbro 400lph
I am less likely to ever go with anything bigger than an FP Green or the MAP EFx turbo, so I am leaning towards a Walbro 400lph or a Bosch 044.
Has anyone installed the BlaqOps kit and have any positive/negative feedback on it?

It sounds like if this were my car, I would do it this way. FP green say hta cause I am not sure what you have 850x.33 for e85=280.5 add that to cfm of the turbo 850 you end up with 1130 which should be your smallest size injector. With that said 1150s or larger. I would go 1 size larger so FIC 1250s, and a single Walbro for fuel. That should get you plenty for what you want to do and not overkill the system.
Honestly, you really don't need anything more then a 255. I mean people will argue with em on this but I make over 500 whp on a single walbro and e85. You want to run a green save yourself the extra cash hahaha.

Hmm, I know many run the 255 but not sure... Everything I have read on the other forums calls out for a larger that 255, but then again that has been the defacto standard for a while...

if you go with the BlaqOps kit, don't use the supplied tubing to connect the pump to the pump housing- it has a bad habit of splitting. Cobb also makes a fuel pump adapter kit.
I've not heard anything bad about the DW1300s, but have heard nothing good about their 800's and 1000's.

With a maximum target of say ~400whp on my X, that would produce crank numbers in the ball park of ~500hp. Based on E85 needing 35% more fueling, it would look to me like ~280lph would be required to meet those needs. I know many are running the Walbro 255lph on the same setup but when you can get the next size up for a few bucks more, I figure why not.

I agree but e85 is 33.3% and like I said I make over 540 whp on a single walbro and have no issues. This is also on a Map ef4 turbo. Your on the right path, just your #s are scured just a tad. The next step up fuel pump for a few extra bucks isn't bad though. I myself was thinking on going maybe a Walbro 400 but Idk I have been told by the tuner not needed.
But I hear what you are saying, if it is working for your current setup, that is ideally the most I would ever try to get out of it.
Yeah his #s are a little off. But thats ok, they prob did that for simplafy the math. I just don't like people seeing things and say oh well I need that and over pay and have way to much and spend way to much money to get a goal that can be reached with alot less money. Just tring to look out for ya brotha.

whatever your using for power numbers reads extremely high. the dyno we use you wont get more then 450whp on a walbro 255. period. FIC1100 cc injectors will out flow the single wal255, so you need the wal400, bosch 044 or double pumpers to run E85 above 450whp.
i have a wal400 on the shelf to try. the aeromotive 340 is essentially the same as the DW300, which is to say neither are very good (both a smidge better then a wal255 for twice the price... even with the rewire kit and double o-rings).
the adjustable regulators arent needed unless you run a pump that outflows the stock regulator at idle. i've been told the 400 does this but i haven't confirmed yet.
one thing to consider: wal255 + install kit = 200. surge tank with wal255 = 700 AND it totally eliminates any starvation problems you can have autocrossing or HPDEs. imagine going to the autocross with a 1/4 of a tank. saves you ~75lbs of weight.

Sounds to me like you need a new tuner. It has been proven time and time again on Mustang dyno's to make more power then that. Obviously all mine was done on vd, but even with the mustang settings I still made over 450. Sure Mustang dynos will read lower, and thats fine. I perfer Mustangs over Dynojets, but at the end of the day I will still make over 625 whp on a Dynojet and we can put that to whatever on a Mustang.

You charge 200 bucks for a 90 dollar pump and install kit? Surge tanks aren't needed. This is why I posted in this thread. Selling useless **** he doesn't need for a FP green.
