Well, $300 is a really good price for a used one, and you do need it... It's about the size of a small Palm Pilot. It will also include the data cable.

I think Cobb set mine at 7500 so probably around there.

Oh nice, seemed like the gears arent long enough in 1-2 cause it wraps out so fast. I would go out to the plano meet but its kinda cold now, work in the morning, 2hr drive......blah. Pizza sounds good though

the EVO X has what is called a close-ratio gear box... that is why 1st and 2nd seem so "short" ... it enables quicker response and acceleration in the lower gear range .

"This turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-4 produces 276 hp at 6,500 rpm (the U.S. version is expected to produce 295 hp), and it makes 300 lb-ft of torque at 4,000 rpm. Thanks to the close-ratio gearbox, the Evo X gets to 60 mph in 4.9 seconds"

Did I hear track days? That is awesome. There are tons of Evos that do AutoX and road racing events here in DFW. What is your experience level and what are you looking to do?

Congrats on the car and welcome to the club!

In reference to the accessport, you do NOT need it. You would only need it if you wanted to be retuned by Cobb, they are the only tuner in the area that requires you to purchase this device. The car can be tuned without it.

nice to buy one with no upgrades really needed, although thats personal preference. Thats a sick car with plenty of pull

BUT...I'd put a real downpipe on that rocket, it deserves one!

let me know if you want to have it tuned, we can tune the stock ecu as it is. although the accessport does have to be unmarried for us to be able to do anything with it. i highly doubt anyone would sell the accessport without unmarrying it though, so you should be good.


if your looking to do track days, let us know! we have a large contigent of sponsored/customer evos that are out there regularly

Actually you don't have to unmarry it... Richard was able to flash over my AccessPort tune from the AP that was stolen.

I'm a drag racer at heart but I have been wanting to get into autox for awhile and will prob finally do it this year.

I'm gonna jack up the car this weekend and see what kind of exhaust I'm working with.
