So my MR came with the lip spoiler and I am not a fan. Is the lip easily removed and the big wing easily installed? Should I just have a shop do it? Or do a trunk swap?

I read that taking the trunk off is easy but I'm sure finding someone who has PB and wants to switch is not.

What are my options here?

 

i had a customer do the exact same thing... had a PB MR with the lip spoiler, wanted the wing. i had a wing and trunk from a GSR in perfect condition just the wrong color. we had the trunk and wing painted to match the PB car, and traded. looks perfect now. overall it was roughly 500 to paint both, and the price of a wing/trunk from a GSR (or other winged evo). we charged him i think 2-3 hours of labor because to paint it you have to take everything off the trunk, not just the trunk off the car.

 

Do like Kevin mentioned; swap with someone.

 

What about the trunk button though? Do I have to swap with an MR or do GSR SSS have it too?

I posted on the boards that I wanted to swap my deck lid with the lip like yours for a large wing and was able to find one in my color. Took 5 minutes to swap.

 

One thing to keep in mind if you swap entire trunks your VIN tag will not match the other panels so it might look like you got rear ended etc for future prospective buyers.

ok well I called Mitsu and its 2300 for a high wing and it's not even painted the right color!

eBay has some for 150 that I would need to get painted and installed.

No one seems to have a trunk to swap local (one to buy in Boston but its in Boston haha)

I may just have to stick with the lip for now . My GSR looked so mean and my MR looks so classy...I like mean!
