After swapped springs on bilstein and pretty disappointed at how it sits. I thought about go coilovers, but it's kinda waste money for who doesn't go track/autoX, i rather spend money on go fast or others than suspension.

Anyway i started look around for new GSR struts online, suprised there was no option for OEM replacement. i found rear shocks from KYB site but not front.

Used parts is only option for strut/shock replacement? or coilover? that is sucks.

 

What was wrong with the look you had? the most popular lowering springs seem to be the Swift springs. Have you seen them? At the MOD in June, you could have had your pick of the look you wanted. Texas Track Works, in south FW, specializes in this stuff, has an alignment machine and an NTEC discount

 

Car came with swift, i always wanted little bit more drop...just a little bit.
My buddy has tanabe and from search, looks like tanabe was way to go. I switched to tanabe, wrong...blistein doesn't drop like KYB. Now front sits same as swift but rear is higher than swift...lol big mistake.

 

What are you trying to accomplish? Lower the car? for looks? give a better ride? better handling?

 

It's pretty much for looks, but not slammed or anything.

Yes, springs/shocks are interchangeable between the VIII and IX. If your main concern is appearance get the Tein S.Tech springs. They have a bad reputation online, but I put 30k miles on my IX with them; street and autocross duty. To be honest, I was more impressed with them than the Swift Sports I replaced them with.

 

Thanks. I also read about S-tech. I'm just going to stick with tanabe since i just bought them.

 

i have several sets of KYB struts, one set even has some swift springs on it. i'll trade ya for the bilsteins if you really want KYBs over the bilsteins
