NTEC Shreveport Cruise - November 3-4, 2012

I'll post my pre-cruise checklist just in case it helps someone else get ready too:
-Accessport (or laptop + Tactrix cable)
-radar detector
-car phone charger
-check oil & change if necessary (factor in a 500+ mile trip)
-check tire tread depth & check/adjust tire pressure (including spare tire)
-spare spark plugs
-basic tool set
-glass cleaner
-check coolant level
-check ACD/AYC reservoir level
-check brake fluid reservoir level
-fill windshield washer fluid reservoir
-walk around to check all light bulbs

It was a great time. The route was just amazing. Nice to see the changing trees and good roads. All the cars ran great and we had no breakdowns.
Many folks went up in cash from gambling, including us.
We need more folks our next trip.

Agreed on all counts! We're definitely going to reuse that route; the roads were just about perfect the entire way (we're 0-2 on lunch in Lufkin though 
). At least dinner on Saturday night in Shreveport was awesome! More cars will only make it better too. Everyone who's come both years has had a blast.
We stuck around until about noon or so before taking off yesterday morning just relaxing and walking around town a bit before eating brunch at the casino, which was pretty good as was the company of Prickuliar and his wife.
I got pulled over on 20 heading home for no front license plate, but no ticket came from it and my radar detector warned me far enough in advance to get slowed down.
I'm definitely game to make Shreveport an annual NTEC trip every fall. Overall we had really good weather with temps nice enough to keep the windows down the whole way.

We enjoyed ourselves so much we probably won't wait until the next annual trip. We plan on doing it again soon and will be taking the exact same route as it was amazing. Jennifer's only complaint was that get to drive on the twisties. It was great to meet everyone and enjoyed everyone's company we particularly enjoyed brunch with Chris and Julie. Can't wait to do it again. Thanks for all the planning and organizing!
