Thank you and I totally agree, it is like comparing apples and oranges. Having said that, still amazing to me that with the exact same deductible and coverage that the quote would be 3x my mdx.... And no... The EVO isn't worth 3x as much...

with an insurance discount?

There have to be some sub-groups that would be very profitable and attractive to an agent.
Insurance is already a pooled product. Rates are fixed by the state and actual loss tables. So while your idea sounds good in reality it doesn't, unfortunately work that way.

If only :S, get like a group discount lol but it doesn't work that way.

My evo insurance actually was more expensive than a zo6 or a gtr which actually does make sense. Driver age, accident ratio etc... I am curious to see what the insurance is going to be on the '14. I will most likely do a short term 3 or 6 mo full coverage and then give Alex a call (when I move down to TX).

Kelly, we can't get more than 5 people to show up to any single event. This Sat lunch meet was a prime example. There were only 4 of us. The Shreveport cruise, of which was planned over 4 months out... So really there should have been no excusses.. Only 6 cars. It would be great if we could get more people together for all that NTEC offers

Would try to make some of those events if I could get the insurance and stuff worked out. Might have to wait a few months... Unless an rx7 is welcome

i guess scheduling wasn't the problem.
all you can do is plan events you enjoy and hopefully owners will join in on the fun!

Yes, the 7 is welcome.
We've never had to turn anyone away so far.

From: Tx,
I'm with Gieco for maybe 10 years now. Now my premiuns is going up slowly. I asked them why...because so many Gieco members on my area was claiming. Even it's not my claim/accident I'm included to that increased. Evo x 08,03 civic,05 Nissan Pathfinder= $1800 for 6months(no accidents) I called Liberty Mutual and they told me same coverage just $2000 per year. Bye bye to that Lizard.

ok, finally got around to calling another insurance company that I had a quote from before (I lump together a bunch of different things, and I haven't had a chance to sit down to call someone new) - and got a quote of ~$2200 for an EVO X. Still amazed that its still 2x what they are quoting my SUV. My wife actually has a couple of small items on her record - which is why I think we already pay a relatively high rate, but that EVO would be 2x what we pay on our other cars is annoying. Those little items drop off next year, so maybe I should just think of this as a 1 year cost...

I was paying 801 per year for my Evo X. I'm paying 830 for the GT-R I'm confused as hell how your 2000 for an Evo. There are three things that effect your rate. Driving record, credit score, and age.

And I have accident forgiveness, glass breakage and 500k liability and 500k property.

Credit score is good, we are in our 30s, so I guess it must be the two small items... Although 1 was a stupid door ding in a parking lot. A non moving item, and only went to insurance bc the other person made a big stink. These prices are with multi line discounts and all that stuff.

ok more updates.
I asked what a Subaru WRX would cost. And.......

$1100.

Basically, same as what I pay for my SUV... but the EVO X is $2250? I asked them about the details on the difference, and its all from the collision... EVO is just $1000 more there.

So um... WRX is supposed to get an update right?

Have you called Alex Dean yet? It could very well just be the company you're with. When I got divorced State Farm wanted to more than DOUBLE my Evo X insurance rate ($75 to 155/month), so I called up Alex and he got me better coverage through Safeco than I had with State Farm for around $80/month.

no not yet, I put everything into 1 bundled policy, so I'm going to need to set aside a decent chunk of time to go through all of that. Will have a chat with him though before I make any final decisions.

When I was working with Alex I just scanned him a copy of all my policies and told him to get to work! I told him I wanted equal or better coverage, and to see multiple options.

I've yet to see his office, everything has been done by email or phone.

i just recently got state farm since all state in california charged me 148/month for their premium coverage and then all state here in texas wants to charge me 280/month..

i told them adios bichachos and got state farm from 138/month....

from what i've learned so far, i tend to go online. shop, print or either purchase it (because riding without insurance can cost you a lot) then meet with an agent and see if you can milk it more on discounts...

well, for having 1 outstanding ticket and bad credit i think i nailed a good deal!

good luck!
