insurance cost?

Hi all,
I'm sure this has been posted numerous places - but I did a search in NTEC though and couldn't find anything.

I am currently doing some research and looking into trading in my SUV for an EVO... one of the things I wanted to check was the annual insurance cost. I know there are a million factors that go into this - age, credit scores, driving history, etc etc... i'm in my 30s and no accidents/tickets. I was still quoted $3600 for an EVO insurance.... $3600!!, that's um... about 3x what I pay for my luxury SUV...

I'll call around, but I was just floored... i was expecting perhaps $1500-1800?... was curious what others in North Texas were paying (DFW and surrounding areas). If you would like to throw in age, and whether you had any tickets/accidents in your history, please feel free to. If not, that's ok.. I'll call around to a few places tomorrow...

thanks in advance.

Not in your area, however I pay about 140 a month for my evo with full coverage. I'm 20 with points on my license. I'm using liberty mutual.

It varies person to person...but I have a few cars and home insurance all tied together. So for the evo, I pay around $60/mth full coverage with $500 deductible with Allstate. I'll be switching to Statefarm real soon for even a bigger overall saving.

Friends told me not to go with liberty mutual, but I pay 130 a month full coverage with them. I'm 23 with 0 points now (used to have 2-3 points), no incidents since I was 19. California. Had evo for a month now.

If you live in Dallas, your over 25.. and you have ZERO activity on your record and your credit score is GOOD... you will be under 200 per month. Call ALEX DEAN at 2148509092 He does many of the Evo owners in Dallas and can get you a good deal. I was only paying 801 per year for my EVO.

I consider it a go-fast tax! I do have a radar detector, but it primarily sits on a shelf expect for roadtrips and car cruises.

Thank you - will give him a call. Does he work for safeco? or like an insurance broker/agent?

Just amazed that EVO insurance would be 3x my SUV...

Definitely too much, I pay around $800 per year through State Farm. Full coverage, no tix, 46 yrs old. My Tundra costs more to insure than my Evo.

Why, as a club of 50+ members
isn't an agent interested in rounding us up
with an insurance discount?

There have to be some sub-groups that would be very profitable and attractive to an agent.

What is full coverage w/out mentioning all of the variables that affect cost;
Deductible
Limits- i carry less for my scooter(30~60-25~ than my Evo (100-300-50)
Uninsured coverage
Increased custom parts coverage

Discounts:
multi car, multi policy ie renter/homeowner/flood etc
paid in full vs installments
Credit score
Ticket and accident free
ancient 2003 Evo!
Minimal annual mileage
others?

Its like apples and oranges
All that being said, $850 yr. Progressive
