local Pittsburgh Meet
The rules for 135 + mph is that you are required to have a NHRA chassis certification and license, full fire suit jacket pants and gloves.
PRP is a IHRA track so maybe some of these rules are not identical but they are all in the same ballpark.
LIke i definitly know that 13.99 and quicker requires a helmet.
From speaking with some 11 second mustang guys 11.49 and quicker required the 6 point

Seem harsh. 6 point weld in! Now there is another good reason to start taking the car to the track or hillclimbing istead. lol
Well maybe they arnt really to concerned about it. I might think of one myself if i was in the 10's tho.

Running 10's and faster I think I would def. want a roll cage as well....especially trapping 135+ mph. If anything, just for piece of mind
Put into perspective a few weeks ago we went to a test'n tune at beaver springs raceway which is also a IHRA track....There was a camero running 9's trapping around 140mph. He finished his run and something went wrong when he started to brake and lost total control at like 130mph and the car rolled a bunch of times. The guy was fine and walked away from it but if he didnt have a roll cage he would have been killed....the car was totally destroyed.
The car was in pieces and took 3 pickups and a flat bed to carry all the parts, pieces and car back to his trailer....kinda gave you that eery feeling in your stomach that crap does happen and you can't control it. It took a fun day and turned it back into reality....
anyway thats my story for the day

well, good too see all you guys out today. one hell of a turnout for that show. probably twice as many cars as i saw there last year.
i don't know how my pictures turned out, it was getting dark when i started snapping shots, but i am sure i got some good ones. i will try to get them posted monday or so with new pictures from the autocross.
well, i am out for driver's school.

I found these in my front coil springs (2 in each spring), never knew they were there....they are used for shipping and dealerships are supposed to remove them. Some dealerships in Ohio are f-ing morons and they dont understand basic concepts of having a car ready to sell.
This goes along with a thread that was created here on evom......see link for details, it has happened to a few people I guess. So anyone who has bought a new evo check for these rubber blocks in the coil springs.

It was nice to finally put some names with faces! Everybody's car looked great.
Wish I could have stayed and chatted longer but my friends and the prego wife
were complaining. Let's not be strangers guys!

EVO's RULE
I drove up to Clarion Flash Light Drags today! (70 miles). I took first place in the Top Tuners! I put away:
AWD Eclipse (early 90's I believe) running some heavy duty NOS
2006 Subaru STI (blue one)
2005? WRX (white one, looked nice...he spent a lot of money on it)
2001? BMW M3
2005? Honda S2000
Nice turn out....about 150+ cars. Not sure if I will drive out that far again
