Man, you think your upper intercooler piping coming off is a problem...I'm running so much boost that I was driving down the freeway and my entire throttle body came off...

What's that little air filter looking thing on the side of your valve cover?

A Cleveland cop stopped and parked behind me so that we wouldn't get hit while trying to fix it. He jokingly said that I should have had a small block chevy instead of this "high tech" horsepower.
That same thing happened to me twice infact. After the second time I had enough and replaced the clamp. I used a spring loaded clamp that has a nut you use to tighten it down on the spring. No problems anymore. I found it at a place that sells parts for rigs. Just watch out it might get you again when you get into the boost good.
When it happened to me the first time I was like WTF. Did the turbo go out or what? To make it worse I was out of state in Maryland and the car would barely run at all pouring black smoke out the pipe. I was pissed to say the least. If would use better clamps this crap would never happen.

Man, I didn't realize that this was a common occurence....can you imagine doing a pull or a drag run and that happening? That would scare the living sh*t out of me....what happens when a small animal gets sucked into your turbo?

Yeah I know I was surprised to find out it was happening to other people too. It appears the most common one is at the throttle body. The next ones I have heard of are the intercooler one coming loose also. It sucks you cruizing along and all of a sudden the car falls flat on its face.

I had the oem band replaced with a t-bolt clamp. Let's see how it works out.

That should work. I was going to use one of them as well but I couldn't find one quick enough.

Quick question. Do you want to this thread to be only for the club related meets and so on? If so sorry to offend you. The only reason I was talking about the clamp was I read his problem and was trying to be helpful. When you first started this thread about starting a club I said I wanted to join. That is why I was watching thread and thought it would be ok to talk to the other members here about anything. Please let me know what type of posting is ok so I don't **** anyone off.

yeah, in my opinion, i think that NE ohio "members" should be aloud to talk amongst each other in this thread, we can always make a seperate meet thread to organize things of that nature in...just my 2 pennies.

It's a breather filter becuase i don't have an oil catch can and the vacuum line that normally goes from that point to the intake is eliminated with my turbo piping.

I interpreted this thread as a generic chat thread for NOLC also. Not a big deal, I'll start a new thread on stuff like this.
