Loooking for Cheapest '05 Dealer
Loooking for Cheapest '05 Dealer
Well I'm finally getting ready to buy an EVO, after a few years of lingering on the forums and just reading about what everyone else is doing to thier car, now it's my turn to join the fun.
I want an 05 EVO VIII with Sun, sound and leather package, in White, but may consider the Electric Blue after I see it.
Can you guys please tell me what you paid and give me the Dealer's info?
I'm willing to drive. I'm in North NJ just for reference.
Thanks

I know I don't have an Evo but try Prestige Mitsubishi. It's in Turnersville...South Jersey right off of 295 S then merge onto rt.42.
That's where i bought my car. Do NOTgo to Cherry Hill Triplex. They have high prices.
I hope you find something

sthiewes, are you talking about the one on rt70 in cherry hill? i was there 2 weeks ago for my free maintenance and they have 3 MR's (red, white, graphite as i remember) for $33,500 each. also they have yellow '05 i believe with SSL package. for $30,500 or something.
speaking of prestige though. when i was shopping for the evo in september and used this thingie online to request a quote, prestige were the only ones that replied to me with an offer (within my zipcode). i forget the salesman's name, something like george braun maybe? he quoted me on the phone for the '04 with standard options $28,777 (includes destination of $500).
i bought the car elsewhere (maywood mitsu on rt. 17) because of a friend of a friend who knew the dealer, but it didn't help in the bargain process
. the salesman there started me off with sticker price! i was like "hell no! gimme below invoice cause i drove 100 miles here when i coulda had it for invoice where i live". so they did, after about 30 minutes while the guy walked back and forth to manager's office lol. i hate when they do that ****. i had to buy a special package for $1500 though that allows me to receive up to $25g's towards a new car if my evo gets stolen. that was the only way they would gimme 4.84% finance for 5yrs, since i have a short, but good credit history (i spent lots of time in college). i also got GAP insurance (which wasn't required in the deal, but i did that for my own sake) for $600. so be sure you have a good long credit history, or if you can put a family member as primary lien and you as co-signee. my dad is primary on the loan. i hope all this helps.
and remember, you can always walk away from the dealer, don't let them bully you into submission. i bet 8/10 times they'll run after you to make a compromise if they already got you through most of the barganing process. GL!

I'll have to check out Prestige I guess, not too far for me. My credit is awesome, (I own a house, paid off 2 car loans and a motorcycle loan in the last few years) so I should have no problem getting a low rate.
I looked at the Mitsu dealer in Newton,. they had a silver one in the showroom with SSL package listed for like $34,XXX and didn't seem too anxious to sell, so I guess they are off the list.

JoizeeX is right...
You can always walk away and they come crawling back. I also hate that too...when the salesman goes back to talk to his boss and makes like 4 trips, it's so stupid. Dealerships suck..LOL

i actually did some reading online about how salesmen work before i went out to the dealership. i forget where i found that article. maybe on edmunds.com or try searching for "beat the salesman". since you bought new and/or used cars before, you prolly know most of it, but it should still be an interesting read. thinking back, i shoulda "walked away" when the finance guy and manager slapped that $1500 package thing into the deal, but i thought it was worth it (although not many evo's get stolen, you just never know, and having $25g's layed out for your next car is nice). besides, the salesman drove 100 miles here to pick me up and bring me there and it was already 9pm on wednesday night, so i just signed the loan and got my car and drove it home
oh and whatever you do, do NOT fall into their "how much are you willing to pay per month?" trap. i resisted that for a while, untill i gave them a low number, but they just worked around it anyway as mentioned above. just tell them "i will pay invoice, with <this> down payment and i want <this> rate". if they continue to **** with you, walk away.
do check out cherry hill just in case though. those MR's are pretty cheap for under $34k sticker.
