NOLC - Switzer performance Dyno day
NOLC - Switzer performance Dyno day
Hey Doug,
After you spoke about Tim Switzer formerly from Buschur racing, I followed the link to his site to get some background info. http://www.switzerperformanceinnovation.com/
Well, today my friend Matt (Red SRT-4) and I went up to his new shop to check it out. I live about 2 miles from the building, so that's nice! I have never met Tim before, but he thought that he recognized me from Buschur's. The building is just outstanding, clean and large. Everyone was extremely nice and informative. Tim and his friend Matt took us around the place, and B.S'ed with us for about 20 minutes. I asked what kinds of products he was offering for the Evo and he took us to the garage to show us the 700hp project Evo and other goodies! Wow!!!!! The rides at the place were sick, as he had atleast 5 Evo's, Eclipses, Subbies, 3000GT, etc.....
I thought that you guys would be interested in knowing alittle about what he has to offer. Switzer's will be offering all major after market companies products, or they can custom fabricate one-off items. April 16th is the day after the Evo/STi shootout, they are getting an AWD mobile Dyno that will be on a trailer. 3 pulls for $150 with no tuning as of now. Since he has some higher incomed customers, he said that some Ferraris, Porsches and a Lambo Diablo were coming to the dyno day!!!! Sweet
Everybody is welcomed, as they are having a cookout. I will be there to meet some new and old faces, so I hope to see some of you guys there! I have a $25 dollar coupon if someone is interested in having it! Tim says that he will custom fabricate anything, powder coating, and tailor your car to your specific needs. Tim doesn't believe in creating specific packages/upgrades for your car, but asks what your goals are and how to obtain them. I spoke with him about NOLC and it's infancy, and he seemed to take some interest. He said that he wished he would have known about the meet sooner, so I told him to look for a NOLC thread in the future. Maybe we could get a sponser for something in the future
who knows. See you guys at D&B.

that sounds awesome, way to get our name out there, this NOLC thing might really start to catch on and stick around, this is the kind of involvement that is needed out of a group to establish it as a true club, nice work!
Thanks for the encouraging words. My friend and I were so impressed with them and the shop, I told him that I would do some free advertising. Tim really wants to get his name out there, as he just bought the shop about six months ago. Maybe we could get some group buy items, custom vinyl for NOLC, etc.....
The thing that impressed me the most was the guys' honesty and integrity, and his willingness to do what is right for the customer. He said that he is not in this for the "Money", but for his passion for cars! In my mind, that's all that needs to be said! Hope to see you guys tonight and at the shooutout weekend.
*Forgot to mention - I spoke with him about putting some flyers at his shop to attract some new members in the area, so I hope nobody minds.
I am already thinking of a design for the club, and will offer up at one of the meets!

Alittle history lesson = By looking at the clan crest, we can figure out (most of the time) which 'zoku' one is considered to have descended from. For example, the Takeda clan crest (Takeda-bishi) is 4 diamonds arranged in such a way that it forms a larger diamond. I'm sure all of you have seen the Mitsubishi emblem of 3 diamonds in a flower-like arrangement. They are also Takeda-zoku, and descends from the Ogasawara clan. According to Debbie, the PR person for Mitsubishi, the Mitsubishi emblem is a combination of the Kasane Sangaibishi (the kamon of the founder of Mitsubishi) and the Tosa clan crest of three Kashiwa leaves

I'm impressed. I never thought my idea of a club would even begin to get this far. I hope you guys are OK with me asking Doug to be the club Prez. I did that because Doug was the first to respond with interest to the whole club idea, and I didn't really know too much about the whole Lancer scene at that time since I'm a nOOb Lancer owner.
I will one-up the Brownie point system, as I have just finished a rough draft of the Club design. If you guys approve, I will bring it to the meet for a submission. I was thinking that we could color match/color contrast the Vinyl decal to match your car! I would get it in Silver, and under my mirrors under the Buschur Vinyl. I know that Doug and Karl DO NOT have enough 15whp stickers on their cars
Let me know!
The design is a Red Mitsu. Star, with the upper part of the map of Ohio in the background. Under the Star is written - "Northern Ohio Lancer Club"
I went Basic, but it gets the point across!

I don't know how to send any attachments, because they are always too large or not the right format. I am a cpu newb, and mostly play online games and surf the web. Sorry
I will be bringing 3 versions of the design
1) Hand drawn
2) 2 with different font for the lettering.
Could someone explain to me how to convert my image into a smaller picture. It says that the image was 2.05 mb in size, and needs to be 100kb.
I need a step by step explaination, because I don't know what I'm doing!

i am going to try to make it over there also.....maybe my second evo will be done in time....lets hope. Either way i am sure my previous evo will be there getting some 550+whp down ....as long as the stock motor holds up !
2MB? That's huge.
Usually, in whatever program you're using, there's an option to lower the size. In Paint, for example, it's Stetch/Skew I believe.
Usually, depending on what level of quality you used, 640x480 is a safe size. But if it's too high Res, it might still be over 100k.

I"ll try it, because I used Paint for the first time to make the design. Thanks!
How are people able to send smaller pictures that you can blowup into bigger sizes, using the arrows at the bottom right?

I'm actually gonna work on an automation script today and post it on my website where you can upload an image, specify the width/height you want it to be in and then it does it's magic and spits out an image. If I have enough time
wish me luck hehe
See you guys at D&B.
PS: Mike you still planning on getting at D&B around 5:30 ?
