Aren't those shows usually rice boy havens? Are there any go cart places around here we could meet up at? Maybe once we are all broken in, we could meet at an autox.Originally posted by Thwack

Oh, that would be cool. I'd love the look of fear on the faces of our other stock competitors when they see a string of 4 or 5 EVOs pull up to registration. Originally posted by Secret Chimp

That is, as long as SCCA groups us into a fair class. They tend to hate turbos and AWDs... Last I heard, they were considering putting the EVO8 into super stock!!!Thomas Dorris

well, I spoke to the guy organizing it last night, and he's expecting around 400 cars there (though i think he's exaggerating a bit), but he did say theyre expecting a viper hennesey, some z51(? the TT vettes), and some other nice/ rare rides. He said there will definitely be some riceboyswith their civics though.Originally posted by Secret Chimp

I know there is a great indoor racing kart track right by dulles airport.. I've been itching to go back there.. I'm not sure I'm ready to autox my new evo tho.

Well, 400 cars makes for a big show!
Dulles is right near me....though I have never seen a gocart track there. Do you know the name of the place? If you do, I can organize something for us.

its kind of expensive, but its fun. if we can get a big enough group we can have our own qualifiers, races, etc.
and yeah, while i dont realistically expect 400 cars big, they do have a lot of space to fill, so it might be nice.

That place rawks! I like meets where we do more than just pose. When I was in PA, I would organize meets every month or so at the local go cart track. We would regularly get 15-20 people at each meet. Maybe I'll drop by the place tonight to see whats up.

Yep, in fact I spoke to the guy in the blue Evo as we were stopped at the Key West/Great Seneca intersection and then again at the Seneca/Rt.28 intersection. He headed down Wooton Pkwy..Nice guy, I was admiring his car and asking him how he liked it so far. I did see another silver Evo on Shady grove the next day. I think he had new plates on that car. Didn't talk to him though.
...I'm still amazed that engine can put out that power for that price! For me, I'm just happy to be finally paying off my car next month! Woo-hoo..a whole 10 months ahead of schedule!

It could be me??? I don't drive my EVO everyday due to long commute, but goes through Rockville area everyday. I don't remember being honked at by WRX, though. I got honked by a black EVO on Briggs Chaney the other day....Originally posted by modvp

Hey, it was on 355 near where the 118 intersect 355. You were stopped in the middle of the median trying to make a turn. I was going north towards the walmart/target/best- buys/pepboys...that area.
