Lightbulb Ohio Area Photoshoots

This is primarily a carry over thread from here: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...136994&page=14

The basics:
I am a pro photographer looking to add some car shots to my portfolio. As such, I brought up the possibility of doing some photoshoots so that I could get some new shots. I live in Columbus, but I am willing to drive 2-3 hours to do a shoot if the interest is there. In the other thread we were discussing a shoot in or around Cleveland. Here is what I posted in the other thread:

I'm working on producing a photo gallery at the moment - unfortunately, I dont have any car shots to show off. That is one of the prime reasons that I want to do a shoot - so I can add that category to my worklist. Primarily, I work as a freelancer doing mostly architectural shoots and/or interiors for the hospitality industry. I also do High Resolution virtual tours for hotels & cruise lines and then shoot other subjects on the side.

Nevertheless, I like to approach things from a different angle and give my subjects a look at details that they usually dont think about. Hopefully we could organize a nice shoot in or around Cleveland and I can use my approach to give you guys some nice shots. I wont ask for any fee in exchange for using the photos for my own marketing and I can provide copies on disc or download. If you want prints up to 17" x 44" I can produce them in my home studio, but I may need some help with covering the cost of ink and paper. I hope that is reasonable.

It may be a while before I can get my online gallery up and running, but in the meantime, I look forward to discussing any ideas and locations you guys can come up with. I dont know the Cleveland area at all, so I'm really going to depend on you all to figure out some good locations and then we'll need to figure out a schedule - date & more importantly time of the day for lighting.
So that's the scoop. I should have my website up this week, so anyone interested can see some of my photos from around the world. As I mentioned, I dont have car photos (except for a few of my own) but I think you can get an idea as to whether or not I am good enough to shoot your cars. I'll post a link when I get it done.

Let's discuss the photoshoot opportunities and locations here. Hopefully this will generate enough interest to make it worthwhile. Even if I can get a couple of guys who are willing to do a well planned out shoot I'm willing to travel. Please let me know.

Cheers,
Matthew.

Edit: my website is now up. If anyone wants to see some of my work, there is about 60 photos in the gallery. Unfortunately there are only 4 evo shots. The URL is here: http://www.m2imageworks.com

I'm in... tell me when and where.

I work M-F, until 4:30. I am not sure about others, but weekends would be best for me unless we want to do a night shoot or something.

Not sure when everyone would be available or how soon... but I will be taking mY Eclipse out of storage in like a month or something, and it's a little more photogenic than the Evo (just because my Evo looks stock). I'd take either car and be content, though.

I won't be around this weekend (2/18-19) and I will probably be getting my Eclipse like the 2nd or 3rd week in March.

What do others' plans look like?

I'm in.

I'd suggested Downtown Cleveland in terms of location, a skyline shoot would be very picturesque.

I'd also suggest more in the springtime aka when the weather warms up so we can get the cars prepped for the season, summer rims on, etc.

I just got the website up and running. There are only 4 evo shots in the gallery (one is hidden and can be found by using the forward and back buttons in the enlarged view), but there are a lot of shots from locations around the world. I think you can get a feel for my style anyway. If nothing else, perhaps you'll be able to tell whether or not you want me taking pics of your rides!

Link is here: http://www.m2imageworks.com.
Its designed for broadband so you guys on 56K might be hurting.
I would greatly appreciate any comments about the photography and the new website.

I am glad to see there is a good response to this thread. I really look forward to getting some great pics when the weather gets a tad bit warmer.

Talon - I still owe you a PM reply - sorry - been busy with the site. However I did really like the fact that you sent pics of a potential location for a shoot. That is extremely helpful when trying to figure out the type of location to use for the shots. Thanks much!!

If we could get right infront of the Rock Hall, that would be cool. The glass would make for a cool effect.

A hanger would also be cool.

Oh--- RRHoF - Rock & Roll Hall of Fame! Wow. that would be sweeet - especially an evening shoot. I'm good pretty much wherever though.

Did anyone find the 3 shots on my car in my gallery?

I just had a look at the RRHoF website - man, that would be awesome.
Am I correct in assuming that a shoot near that building is a pipe dream? It looks like it would be difficult to access. Any area around there that would still provide a view of the museum if we cant get close?

-Again, I dont know the area - sorry. Perhaps someone could scout out some locations around there or downtown and drop me a few quick snapshots? That would be a huge help.
