I had a bad experience where Pruven through away an exhaust I specifically told them to keep, plus a friend of mine had nothing but headaches when he got work done on his car (and he was charged to fix previous mistakes).

There's a nice place up in Windsor called Ultimate Edge, but be warned, they're strictly on the up and up. I went in looking to get some not-exactly-street-legal work done and they gave me a big fat no. Still, the owner is a decent guy and looks to be very respectable, so it gets a recommendation.

Other than that, there's always The Shop down in Norwalk. I went through but was quoted 3,800 for a turbo install, which I thought was a bit much.

Decent shops are tough to come by in this state, but just remember one thing, you're always going to hear something bad about a place. Everyone finds a way to complain about something, so take what you hear with a grain of salt.

Here was my latest and last Pruven experience. I dropped off my car off on a staurday cause my friend was picking his up. All I was getting done was having a wideband installed along with an Invidia O2 housing but I figured I'd leave the car there all day and pick it up later that night before they closed to give them all day with it. When I got there around 4 they said they were just finishing up the wideband. Cool, figured that was it and they were done. Wrong. They still hadn't done the housing. They when they finally get to that they tell me the Invidia outlet uses a stock type flange and it won't bolt up to my Buschur DP cause that flange is totally flat. Okay not their fault. So I have my friend drive up his stock DP so we can chop his flange off and weld it to my Buschur DP. So he races up 40mins get there and they say oh we're closing up, we can do it monday WTF. Fine come up there monday they didn't get around to welding the flange on till like 2pm and they charged me $50 to do it. Ain't that abada *****.

XX does awesome work. Name another shop in the area that builds their own custom race parts and races them at the track every weekend. As long as you're not a douche bag to them, they'll treat you like family.

Yes guys I am back. I would just like to let the EVO community know that we are here to help. I will provide the best service I possibly can. We have actually been doing a pretty good amount of EVO's here at the shop from sales, service, dyno tuning(all wheel drive dynapack), race preperation (Road Race & Autocross) and even cutom fabrication (roll cages, bracketry) For those who dont know me I am a fellow Road Racer with at least 15 years experience and also dealership experience as well. I have been involved with the import community as well as performance work for the same period of time. If there is something I dont know than I will tell you the truth and find out the right answer. I hope to see some of you guys down here as you will be VERY impressed with our knowledge and array of performance parts we have to offer. Until then Happy AWD Motoring!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Craig, glad you're here, you should be an asset to this forum. I had XX do all the work on my past 360whp WRX, and I was very happy with the experience. I know you guys have undergone some changes over the last 2 years, and hopefully some of the issues being complained about in tihs forum can be alleviated. Most of the complaints/issues were related to dishonest dealings by the management of XX. That's a tough reputation to dispel, and I know that word has gotten around about XX not treating customers fairly when it comes to $$.

I live in Hartford and would love to see a local shop continue to do well. Hopefully your involvement with XX can help turn that place around.
