Hey you all! I'm from Wilmington Delaware. I just traded in my '03 S2000 on an '06 Evo IX MR. So far I love the car and I've been doing some serious browsing on here. I really don't have too many plans for this car. I'd like to keep it pretty stock but I have some questions if anyone can help.

I'd like to maximize the dyno flash. I'm getting an HKS intake/air filter before the flash but I'd like to know who to go to. Who have you guys used that is reputable?

I am also adjusting to NOT having a convertible and I WANT to have a moonroof installed... is this possible with an aluminum roof? Have any of you had an aftermarket power moonroof installed?

the filter really isn't neccesary. the stock airbox is good up to 400 horsepower. just save yourself some money and get a k&n drop in filter. it's really all you need for a stock motor.

also, an intake can cause you to lean out giving you a better chance of detonation.

not sure about the sunroof though.

 

Doubt you can get a sunroof. The stock one from the SSL package has been known to crease the steel roofs on some people's cars, I doubt the aluminum one will support one.

Don't bother with the intake/filter. If you're going to change anything, make it a TBE. Otherwise, just keep it stock and get the flash. Al from DynoFlash (CT) is where I would go if I were on the east coast.

TTR is only 1.5 hours away, drive up and get Mark to tune yah.

I would just get a drop in filter,exhaust,BC and a tune.

 

Just get a good TBE and call it good.

TBE= Turbo Back Exhaust

It consists of Downpipe(Front Pipe)-Test Pipe(Straight Pipe)- Catback.

 

well a TBE and intake will net you about 300 awhps
and a flash will bring it in the ballpark of 340-350
and if you lower it
use MR specific springs

Congrats, and Yes TT in North Jersey for the Flash...MUCH more Experienced on the IX's than Al (DynoFlash)....

congrats. you cannot install an aftermarket moonroof in the aluminum roof. i checked on that from the dealer when i was considering an mr. i got an ecuflash done at tdctuning.com in concord, nh. john up there is really knowledgeable and very very reasonable. i gained 35whp with just a flash and mbc which i think is pretty good.
