Good track day organization in NYC area?
I'm looking for an organization in the NYC metro area that does track days. I've looked into the SCCA, but it looks like it's quite a big commitment. Are there alternatives?
i've had pleasant experiences with SCDA.... www.scda1.com.... featured tracks are the glen, nhis, limerock, you get classroom instruction and a personal instructor who will ride with you and teach you the finer points of driving, these are driver educations and are not timed in anyway, or if you're into autox a good site is www.autox4u.com
+1 for www.scda1.com I am a personal friend of Ian's (guy who runs it) and know most of the drivers that usually instruct. Great bunch of guys who know a lot about driving, can learn a lot spending a day with them.

NASA has a great HPDE program to take drivers of all skill levels and get them out there learning alot and having tons of fun.
NASA NE just joined up with PDA this year and offers quite a few educational track days at awesome and historic tracks like Limerock, Watkins Glen and Pocano. I've had nothing but great experiences with them in several regions at 5 tracks so far and can't wait to get back out there albeit with my Type R:

This club used to be call the M club but name changed to http://www.motorsportsne.com.
They do many autocrosses at giants stadium. Track events are piggy backed with PDA, but our members can use lap timers for a little competitve aspect to a normal HPDE.
