let me know how that forge holds boost. i'd love to come by and see it at work once you have it in since you're pretty close to me. i was going the ebc route, but if that works, i'd just assume save the money.

I would suggest either controlling your boost with your tune/boost pill or with an mbc. EBC's cause a lot of tuning issues and have proven to be very inconsistent on several of our cars. I ran my boost on my VIII with my Forge until I had the ECUTeK tune done and then I used a boost pill and the ECUTeK to control desired boost. Worked like a charm and almost eliminated taper. Unfortunately with the MIVEC we're bound to have a bit more taper (4...even 6 psi is possible). I will let you know once it's all installed though if you want to see it

why would a simple ebc such as a profec s spec be any less effective than an mbc? it still senses boost the same way, the only difference is that it is controlled electrically rather than by pressure? i don't mean to sound defensive, i just would like to know the difference with the evo. my rx-7 had boost bleed problems with an mbc that were eliminated with a profec. i like the fact that an ebc eliminates differences in boost related things like temperature. that's my main reason for getting one. this weather has been a great example since i was seeing over 1.5 bar in the cold higher gears and then on saturday the thing wouldn't go over 1.3.

If you do a search there have been several topics involving tuning problems with EBC's. I don't have any links handy but I know DynoFlash most recently had a customer with an Apex EBC that caused all sorts of nightmares. (I think it was Apex, don't quote me on that though.) Again I don't remember the specifics, but everyone recommends the MBC over the EBC on the Evo.

There is nothing like the consistancy and repeatability of the Forge UNOS MBC. Very nice CNC machined unit that works great for $85 shipped.
