Just got my Evo

I got a 2005 Evo VIII with 10K along with a hefty monthly payment...oh wells. hopefully this car lasts!

Anyways, in the Central NJ area near Princeton. Just wanted to stop by and introduce.

And one last question, I know a lot of the cops in NJ just want to ticket for fun. My question is, should I mount my front plate on the grille in front of the intercooler with zip ties?

Well, make that two questions. I also know they somewhat enforce the decibel level of the exhaust. What can I get that is functional and sounds good, yet not too loud where I would constantly draw attention.

Thanks!

i replied in the noob forum. but congrats again.. also check out www.evo-ny.com

just got my ix on monday, and i dont have a front plate bracket, and currently not running it. im gonna use the excuse i just bought it and they are ordering me a bracket if i get pulled over until i figure out what im gonna do. at this point i dont want to drill holes to have a mounting plate for it, so i might try leaving it in the windshield of rigging it up somehow. like your thinking, but i wouldnt want to block air flow to the ic, or radiator.

Putting the plate on thewinshield will get u hassled with. In a month that i had like that i got pulled over 5 times and got 3 tickects for it, it's defenetly not worth the trouble. Mountitng it near the intercooler won't really have that much affect on the air flow in daily driving, and if ur gonna take ir to the track u can take it off easy. I've also seen people putting like this.

Why don't you get the factory bracket for the VIII?

Yo do know it sits off to the side in front of the driver's side and does not block the intercooler at all....

I have the C-west front end. I did not see anywhere to mount it on there unless i drilled some holes.
