Dextrodamous...did you get the "silver zinc coated" rotors from rotorpros through MAPerformance? If so, did yours come in looking like this but in silver http://www.maperformance.com/rotorpr...o-viii-ix.html

I ordered "Silver" zinc coated hoping that they would have come in like the ones in the link but silver. Instead they were just all bare metal. Top hats are just like the rotor surface...just wondering what you ordered. I paid extra for the coating and didn;t get what I paid for and they are telling me I got the right ones. The emails back and forth are growing old quick

so...do your rotors look like these or are your top hats coated/finished like the red ones but in silver...??

 

if you want, we can try the powdercoater on your rotors and take her for her maiden voyage. i need to build a bigger blasting box before i can do wheels.

 

Well, right now my discrepency is with getting what I paid for. The rotors are correct for an Evo and will fit, but not what I paid extra for by not getting rotors with a coating on them.

 

hey timz, the zinc coating is invisible for all intents and purposes. those rotors look zinc coated to me.

the zinc coating just keeps it from oxidizing to an ugly color. it should only oxidize over where the pads have worn off the zinc.

 

even the zinc coating will wear off over time depending on the thickness, but for now it keeps the rotors a bluish metal color.

Yeah, I knew it was kind of a 'transparent' finish on the rotor. But he implied that the rotor would be finished like the colored ones would be but in silver. As quoted from a rotorpro rep, he said, every rotor leaves the factory with zinc coating, no if, ands or buts. So, after a recent email, MAPerformance will be changing the listing on their website because of this. So, I will end up keeping these rotors. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't getting stiffed for an extra $40.
