So for the exhaust ticket... I think I should be set to get it dropped. I plan to base on argument on the fact that my exhaust is marketed as being 50 state legal and that it is the same noise level as stock. Furthermore, I plan to argue that the Officer has no way of actually proving otherwise, that it is in fact louder than stock, which is what the law describes as being illegal. His judgment is not proof enough that my exhaust is louder than the stock one. I also definitely plan on not mentioning the DP and HFC and denying if for some f'd up reason they are brought up.

While I don't think I am going to bring these up... maybe they will help...
- The officer made an illegal pass and almost hit me before pulling me over.
- He gave me a ticket for the wrong amount.
- He tried to argue that it is nonsense that the exhaust is marketed to be 50 state legal because "i can go out and get an illegal tint or have an illegal car inspected"

I shoulda asked him where I can get that illegal inspection.. the Audi is totally due

Davids maybe you can help me prep some ideas/proof once I get date. I <3 your skills of persuasion.

 

do not justify the exhaust. Say that the stock one was damaged and you bought an OEM equivalent. Also dont try to play a cop and make claims that the cop broke the law, that will make the other statie and magistrate angry. Don't forget cops are trusted by the state to follow the law, unless you have circumstantial proof that he made an illegal pass DO NOT BRING IT UP. It will hurt your case more than help. Just tell them the exhaust was damage and you bough an OEM equivalent. Say the officer did not test the db of the exhaust so there is no proof it was louder than stock. nuf said.

 

I would go the entirely opposite route altogether and just put the stock cat-back on for court day, show it to them, and it will get thrown out. I really don't think trying to bully them will work. There is a huge thread on NEDSM, and the only way you are guaranteed to win is to do as above. Period.

matt what pins did you get? I dont know if you saw pics of my gialla hood, but there was a local guy up here I had install the aerocatch pins....they came out great
