I remember a buddy telling me to only request you as a tech if I ever brought the car there...they ended up replacing my passenger seat which was a PITA because mitsu had locktite'd the bolts in place...i thought you were the one doing the repair at that time...

Hey. I am a tech at westboro mits.
Feel free to come down and have pictures taken but I would not count on them getting replaced. Mitsu sent out many bulletins explicitly stating not to replace calipers for fading. The rep will never let it fly. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
But like I said, if you want to give it a shot, feel free.

My calipers are peeling, and yes, over the years they have only slightly faded. But the slight fading is not my majon concern. The problem is that the calipers peeling and they should be replaced for this. Now, I have been given the run around from the other dealership here for almost 20k miles. I first notified them when the car was at 22k, now at 45k, even with a very good and established relationship between Service and the car owner, me. We pay a lot of money for a version of a "Lancer." This shouldn't happen. And Mitsu should honor the warranty that is part of the vehicle purchase. Every vehicle that comes with a factory warranty, the cost of projected warranty repair is factored into the price of the vehicle. So we all paid more for the car than what it actual is. Since we paid for a percentage of that toward projected warranty repair, we should be compensated by not having any contest over defective components. I shouldn;t have to explain to Mitsubishi why their product is defective and should be replaced by them. The failed/defective components speak for themsleves.
I do what Bill does, but for Volvo Cars, and I don't even stock the "Brembo' calipers that are on the "R" model S60's and V70's. And we have appx 5 owners of these cars that auto-x/HPDE these cars regularly. And in no way shape or form, are these calipers different then the day they bought the car. I am really shocked how these hold up, and the ones on our Evo's do not withstand the elements of even normal driving. My car has never been to any type of off road course. It has only been a street car for me.
I only stated my position, and don't take what I said personal. As it is not directed toward you in any way
Don't worry I don't take take anything personal
Maybe he did decide to replace them since they were peeling. either way I'm glad you got what you wanted.
Yes I did used to work at Herb Connolly. It most likely was me that did that Job, but it was so long ago that I don't really remember.
