Well unfortunately I was a heavy footed high school student... My first car was the SHO, which was heavy however had a nice punch, but with the engine problems and such I had with it at the time I spent more time walking next to the car on the side of the road than driving it. When I got the lancer I found out the effect of wet leaves + sand + telephone pole... Then I found out that people don't look when switching lanes which put me into 10 feet of chainlink fence and a big dent on the front fender from an SUV which took off. Followed by a pickup truck backing up into my car...

My lancer has seen better days.. much better days. I'm surprised it wasn't totalled after the pickup truck incident.

I admit i was an idiot with the car, wrecklessly driving as if i was invincible. But I'm sorta glad I did that back then than now... Got it out of my system, I do drive aggressively now but I don't drive fast anymore gas pwns jobless college kid...

I wouldnt compare those two accidents to trying to handle LTO in an evo. It doesn't seem you had control over the situation where dex knowingly pushed his car to the limit and exceeded it and didn't have the experience to control it.

Well if you are putting around yes. If you are hammering 2nd around a turn, no. The evo is actually very easy to lose control of if you want to.

no the first accident i admit i lost control, the last two accidents was a) my car parked, B) my just going off the road after being vaulted by a suv. Though I did manage to avoid the trees on front of the fence... I was just trying to show my luck with the lancer, sorry I was sort of rambling on.

I guess i'm just trying to say I feel like i know the limits of my car, granted i'm not pro, just saying for your average joe, I know how my car is going to react when i push it...

Yea I'm thinking about going with the Legacy GT, so time to empty my already empty pockets. I think with a trade in I won't get jack for the car, so i'll go with private sale, hopefully I can sell it.

This is pretty good news regarding ECUFlash for the X

List of some I consider minor stuff for now
Immobilizer

Injectors

Throttle control map

no more requirements for MBC / EBC etcetc if you intend to stay stock turbo 23-24psi @ 7000rpms with stock exhaust

This ECU is ridiculous .. maybe its purposely undertuned like some mentioned .. ANYbody with a computer can make the X faster

my integra was the same way - you basically could throw it into any turn at the limit, and it would always give you the proper amount of turn-in, and rotation.

Lift off is used very liberally to rotate FWD cars in turns. Integras/GTIs/Sentras are set up very similarly. They are just fun cars that are wicked easy to push to the limit.

I think FWD is where i got my bad lift off habits - because lift off is good on FWD, but you have to be a lot more conservative with liftoff in a turn with RWD or AWD. The Evo will brake bad driving habits pretty quick - but luckily not as quick or as expensive as a porsche will brake you.
