hahaha nice. But yeah, no blown motors. Evos are pretty hard to make assplode unless it is on purpose. Which reminds me, i hope ajay is being careful

nice, the evo motor is a very stout setup, and the stock ecu is great for keeping it safe

I am being careful, I promise. I am going to the cape tonight to pick up the lady & the little man, so I want to see what kinda gas milage I can pull off. If I have a goal in to reach, it'll keep my foot off the floor

why wouldnt it work? I have bought a $5 cable just like it from newegg and it worked just fine. It comes with a driver CD and the reviews claim it works "As advertised"

I dont believe the radioshack version needs drivers which is why i like it. I have had a bunch of issues with some of the cheaper converters. Some work, most dont. Have you tested that version with the uego? If it works then maybe i will pick one up.

I'll let you borrow my $5 cable whenever you want. It will work fine. If it works in hyperterminal for anything, it will work with a wb connected to it. Its just bits over a cable.

yeah like i said it would be nice to have one that didn't require a driver. I should pick one up. Bring it next time you are around i want to check it out. Its not just bits over a cable it is a tad more complicated then that when it comes to device handshakes and such.

any one of them should require a driver. it's emulating rs232 communications over a usb port, and it won't do that natively in windows. dunno about vista- maybe it has some generic drivers now, but i know there are a few different manufacturers of the chips used to the communications.
