Boost gauge shouldn't matter, X can naturally log boost. AFR we can lean out conservatively based on what i have seen. and checking knock. It wouldn't be the first time i have tired that.

We definitely need to all hang out and poke and prod at the Evo X ECU Once we can dial-in the AFR's precisely and start tweaking with timing and the mivec, I bet its gonna feel like a totally different car.
