Just had a meeting with the higher ups here at work. As a pro-active measure, starting 1-1-2009 EVERYONE in the company is forced to take a 10% cut in base pay to keep their job and to help keep the dealership afloat till the dealership as a whole starts picking up the numbers. Regardless that my dept #'s are fine and have not dropped to any point to create concern. Merry f*kkin Xmas!!!!!!
So, I iz VERY sad

Damn, Tim, sorry to hear man....it seems a lot of companies are doing similar things, just so people can keep their jobs..(although I'm not sure they'll see a 20% increase when the economy picks up again!)

I can understand companies saying there will be no raises, but actually forcing 10% pay cuts is really sh$tty. Sorry to here this...
...given the economy, I am thankful to have a job, especially in this industry. But srsly!! My dept shouldn't suffer for the fact that we have busted are humps keeping the parts sales up and steady. And I have gone to great measures to obtain many new wholesale accounts for added business. And we are suffering do to lost new vehicle sales, and a slight drop in service work. so lame>

And no, it doesn't look like I'll be heading to the dirtydirty this weekend. On the upside, that does mean I'll have some time to hang out... I'll probably be at work until 5/6 tonite, go home and tackle the driveway, then consider taking the Evo and the camera out to generate some hot calendar shots

Tim that sucks about the paycut but truthfully it is a very smart approach i think a lot of companies could learn from. Like you said, most people would love to just have a job and take a paycut then no job at all. Plus, hopefully, you will be compensated when the market turns around.
