some of my subaru buddies are coming down to visit from the north shore tomorrow. i think we are going to get some dinner and then some sort of debauchery will probably ensue.

i am not sure of specifics, but i can post up details tomorrow.

oh- and for those of you that are wondering, my uppipe is fixored. i got a steel plug this time so hopefully, it won't disappear like the brass one. having 5 feet of pipe between your exhaust ports and your turbo is a good thing, right?

Haha mikie you have enough exhaust piping from your engine to the turbo to just go out the tailpipe. Well you did with the equal length anyway.

can you guys confirm for me whether VIII turbos can be upgraded to the green (with the 9 compressor cover)?

I could've sworn I read this a couple months back - that you could send in a stock VIII turbo, and get it upgraded with the larger compressor/turbine wheels AND the IX compressor cover.

I haven't been really following the boards too much the past couple months so not sure if this holds true.

BTW, you guys know anyone running meth locally on a daily/semi-regular basis?

 

I have water/meth injectionin the Subaru. I haven't turned it on with the new setup, but I used it most every day on the previous setup. What are you looking for?

 

Just trying to see a local's setup and which kit and which failsafes they are using. Pick their brain about the practicality (cons) of it.

But seriously, I did the tuning on setup, so I can probably help you with whatever you need. I have it set up so if my pump fails or nozzle clogs (Aquamist setup), it pops open my BCS and what causes me to run wastegate boost pressure. Then, for those load sites in my fuel map, I have extra fuel in there so that if I should go into failure, I have a reasonable mapping.

Are you looking for something like that?

 

"TURBO-MEG" (sp) on here has an '05 VIII RS that had a meth kit installed at DSG. I don't see them on teh boards that often anymore. From the Dover/Portsmouth NH area. See if you can pm them. They should be able to answer I hope.

 

Yup, Damien and I are friends, although I'm not sure where he's been the past couple months...he had mentioned getting quite busy with work on Long Island.

His car isn't really a daily driver though - it is an 05 with <10k miles, and gets put away for the winter.

 

Yeah, that's what I'm looking for. Not sure if this is something that I should do thru a Zeitronix type setup or thru the Aquamist supplied failsafe.

Also, where did you buy meth?
