i don't particularly care for heat wrap, especially after the turbo. the only reason i would personally wrap it, is if it comes close to the oil pan or tie bars.

i would recommend getting some header wrap and sealing it with some silicone spray. it will keep heat away from your oil pan and probably hold up pretty well.

I was considering it. My buddy said he might have some wrap he was willing to donate otherwise probably not. I am not incredibly concerned.

Always looking to plug the hole dex, aye? No that sounds good. The AEM should come with an o2 bung too.

It does.... Plus, the heat wrap nicely absorbes any rattles or vibrations you might get with it....AND it makes working on a warm car 100000x easier.

As for install location, you guys coulda asked me...that's exactly how i've mounted mine...

I rarely see people wrap the downpipe, not saying that it isnt a good idea. I just think wrap is a hassle. You have to do it correctly or it falls off and if oil gets on it, it could light on fire. Just seems like a pain and we have an oil cooler anyway so i dunno.

the silicone spray makes it water proof so you don't have to worry about it absorbing oil either.

I dont plan on wrapping mine. bolt and go. done.

I personally haven't had issues for about 3+ years now. also one less thing to worry about after install. Can't see this new pipe being any different than my existing dp.

Yeah, I didn't know too much about it at the time, I just thought it was the appropriate thing to do...

since mine gets close to the cross bracing in some areas it worked out well as a built-in cusion.
