mikie...this was taken from yahoo tech:

"HD DVD prices plummet: Sharp-eyed readers at Engadget HD found Toshiba's HD-A3 HD DVD player on sale at Circuit City for $99, including 7 free movies. Of course, it's just the beginning of sharp price cuts across the board for HD DVD. Taking a quick look at eBay, I found HD DVD players going for well under $100, with the Xbox 360 HD DVD add-on selling for about $50."

Its not personal, its business. If it wasn't for govt regulations the car companies would not do anything to save you in the event of anything. ie. they are looking to make money not take your best interest in mind. Actually the only interest they have in the customer is if the car is appealing and make sure you will purchase it.

it is business, however, there is a fine line between business and negligence. making decisions where you can put a cost on how many human beings are killed before it's economically viable to fix an inherent design flaw are pretty negligent in my book.....

I agree but people still bought the pinto. Did the government step in did they?

Mikie i dont think we are ones to speak on negligence when money is in the mix. I am pretty sure either of would lose morals for a lot less then car companies make.

i've been snagging up used hd dvds for ~$10-$15 each at newbury comics. the way i look at it, the xbox hd player is still a 1080p upconverting player and standard dvds aren't going anywhere soon, so it's not the most awful investment i've ever made.

maybe at some point i'll get a ps3. i need a tv stand first. i have stacks of audio equipment video equipment, dvds and cds all over. i found one i like but it's backordered until the middle of march. it's the story of my life.... *sigh*

if you wait, you can usually get one on sale at amazon with a bunch of free movies. they all come with king kong as well. that's why you can find copies of that movie for ~$5 each....it's too bad they didn't cut the first hour of it- it would have been awesome.

be aware that the xbox hd dvd player will only do 1080p over the vga connector, and the other connectors will only do 1080i. it's some bull**** copyright law dealing with analog connectors.

God king kong was tough to get through. Peter Jackson just loves to hit that 180 minute mark on his movies.

Good point. I think it is more like "he must get free snacks during editing"
